O.k...o.k...I know!Yes, it is yet another billionaire vs. commoner erotica trope.But before you round up the torches and pitchforks...hear me out!This is the second offering in the Forbidden series. A new Special Releases collection from Harlequin.You will notice that the part about our fair commoner being an unsuspecting ingenue is blissfully absent.That's right!She has had sex before!Hallelujah!Not only that, but wonder of wonders...she is a full grown woman to boot!Louise Jensen may be an esteemed professor at Columbia University, but one perusal of her lush curves from across a crowded room, leavens billionaire shipping magnate, Jaiven Rodriguez, determined to pursue a very sensual course in Women's Studies.Things start out as all fun and games for these two, but as the sex intensifies, so do the feelings that the two share. This leads to some very hard to face truths from both their pasts, which threaten any hope for their shared future..Though this book is very sexy, fun, and light for the most part. It deals with very real issues of body image, spousal abuse, gangs, forgiveness, and redemption.Both Louise and Jaiven are very down-to-earth characters, that you have no problem identifying with and rooting for.This is the perfect one sitting read for those who like their happily ever afters passionate, playful, and more than a little rough around the edges.

The Professor and The Former Bad Boy By LynnL In book two in The Forbidden Series, Javien Rodiguez and Louise Jensen would seem to be at the outset opposites. He’s an ex-con, ex-gang member who, against the odds, turned his life around to become a successful businessman; however, his old sins continue to haunt him. She teaches feminist studies at a prominent university and fits the mold of the nerdy professor. Louise has a dark and difficult past too; she and Javien have more in common than it would seem. They are both deeply wounded by those pasts and still struggling to move beyond the things that haunt them. Louise copes by being an uber feminist taking white knuckled control of her life. Javien only does one night or occasionally one week stands; but after being with Kate, he can’t seem let her go.Both the characters have a ton of emotional baggage which takes quite a bit of work for them to get through. Louise’s woundness comes in part from an abusive early marriage while Javien continues to pay penance for his youthful mistakes. She steps way out of her comfort zone to be with a man who makes her feel desired and beautiful. Javien finds he no longer is interested in a parade of women flowing in and out of his bed. As they take the tentative steps to finding out what a real relationship could be like, there is much to overcome for this unlikely couple.
