39 of 39 people found the following review helpful. My second "Bible." By Baciagaluppo Of all the books about educating children with learning disabilities, this is my favorite. It is written from a Christian perspective, so it may not be for everybody. However, Herzog has many years of experience, practical suggestions, and she puts all of the jargon and psychobabble in the proper perspective.My favorite section of the book is where she lists the qualities and characteristics many LD children have -- the POSITIVE qualities, as well as the problem areas. This is the whole key to having the proper attitude towards these children, and teaching them effectively.Herzog also points out that school is but one aspect of any person's life, and it is TEMPORARY. She gives many specific examples of people who did miserably in school, but had very successful lives anyway.An extremely helpful and welcome book.

By Patrice R-C From this book I learned to respect my son for what he is, not what he should be. Learning can only take place when you accept your child for what he/she is. My attitude toward my son was that I needed to "fix" him, so that he could be the same as other children. I learned to accept and celebrate his uniqueness. This book is from a Christian perspective but I think it would help anyone who has a child who is struggling academically, emotionally, or physically. We homeschool our special needs son. As per Joyce Herzog's advice, he spends a lot of time doing things he is interested in, rather than trying to grind the academics in him. He's much more receptive to doing his school work if he's able to play with his Legos or look at maps, things he loves doing! As I said, this book was life changing for our family! The author's suggestions are practical and easy to implement, which is great for families who are already worn out from dealing with their special needs children. The chapters are short and easy to read - no education jargon here! This is a very helpful book, written for parents in a style easy to understand.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. A winner By Gwen I think a have read every special needs and regular home-school book out there and this is my second favorite. It is very easy to understand yet covers all the all we see when we educate our learning labeled children. I spent the first year after diagnoses trying to make sense of the jargon and then find appropriate curriculum. Not easy. It does not cover dyslexia and the Orton Gillingham method that is needed to help this condition. This book does bring up the need to look into vision issues other than the need for glasses such as the eyes not being able to focus properly together at the same time. Vision therapy has worked wonders for many dyslexic children and I appreciate her bringing this to everyone's attention. She gives very specific advice, which I love and is not pretentious. Warning: This is a very Christian text. I am a secular homeschooler and was a bit put off by her philosophy such as Children learn to read to so they can read the Bible and need to do sports. Learning without Labels is definitely a very practical tool if you are just getting started or need encouragement that you are your child's best hope. If you are a secular home-schooler or not christian but still doing religious education at home, I still recommend. I have put down many home-school books short on educational info but very heavy on why it is God's plan to home-school. The book has the special needs home-school info you can really use so keep an open mind.

We went to library picked out about 9 different subject books. It leads you through course. "Pick 4 books and read 15 minutes out of each" "watch a documentary and write a review " It's a program that you get out of it what you put into it. Self led. Originally i worried it was too young, but the choice of books for us helps establish level of difficulty. Overall recommended.

She loves the freedom to choose what she wants to learn. The only exception was that I would add math books to her stack each day. She also loves the cats, drawing and coloring pages that are sprinkled within the book. After she is done for the day I take this journal, and we go over everything that she learned on that day. My only small complaint is that I wish the pages had a little more variety.

Ex: "Even after taking her c**k in my mouth like a champion, Haley’s still acting shy."♦️HERO: Jace Fisher, 22--CEO of his own real estate company. Extremely arrogant, charming, flirty, manwhore. He's tall, muscular, covered in tattoos with blue eyes, dark hair.♦️HEROINE: Haley, 22--Recent graduate of SDSU. Currently unemployed. Has big brown eyes, curvy body.♦️PLOT: After finding a bizarre fantasy contact written for her by her new stepbrother in his room, Haley abruptly flees across the country to attend college. 4 years later, she has been fired after working as a waitress and Jace drags her back home to make her co-CEO of his billion-dollar company if she signs his contract. Always ready to tease and mess with Haley and make her uncomfortable, Jace flirts relentlessly and tries to get her to sign a contract giving him control over what she wears, who she hangs out with, even requiring her to sleep in his bed and ask his permission to touch herself. After a little resistance, she signs it. They begin a sexual relationship and he gets to punish her when she disobeys him. Meanwhile, Jace's awful mother suspects the two are involved and tries to expose them to get Jace's company.♦️REVIEW: The storyline is kinda odd with the whole contract thing. Several situations are too coincidental/unrealistic. Like, in the 4 years Haley has been away, Jace has become a billionaire right out of high school and had a skyscraper built...that he just gave a blank check to the builders to design and build. Haley's father puts them in a one-bedroom suite that they have to share...in Jace's skyscraper. And the one time in months she is out with a male friends, Jace happens to see her and gets to punish her. Also, how can two people totally grope each other under a table, while negotiating a deal in a business meeting, and no one notice?Haley is a bit naive and doesn't come off as being very bright sometimes. She signs Jace's contract thinking it would give her power over Jace and that it would throw him off and then she's surprised when that doesn't happen. Haley thinks: "I have to keep reminding myself that this is a way of standing up to Jace, not a way of giving into him." She then wears an insanely skimpy and expensive party dress around town (people stare at her) for few days straight that Jace picked out for her! Why? She didn't have her clothes but she could have gotten others. Jace thinks Haley will be "an excellent businesswoman", but why does he think this? And, she's a grow woman who wears a t-shirt with an elephant on the front of it.There were some very sweet parts at the end. Jace values their relationship more than his company and doesn't want to hide it any longer.♦️STEAM: Hot 4/5 - explicit sex, spanking♦️ENDING: HEA, Epilogue - 2 years later, No cliffhanger.

Jace is a complete alpha and doesn't take s*** from anyone who Gets in his way and that's my favorite kind of alpha. As the book goes on and on I can't help but fall for jace too! The ending is a great way to leave these two!

Jace was a grade-A a**hole and Haley was so immature. I only made it half-way thru the story because it was so frustrating. Haley is definitely into Jace but it's a mystery whether or not Jace is actually into Haley. It seems like he just wants to humiliate her and she just plays along!! Like I said.....just so GRR!

I LOVE that this book states that it is for beginners By TS I LOVE that this book states that it is for beginners, and it's in a language that an actual beginner can understand. Most books offering to help beginners in webcasting include computer language that is hard for a beginner to understand. For me, I'd close the book and call it a loss. Not with this book.I had been looking for a way to learn how to webcast and market my business to bring in a more diverse group of people, and I am happy to say that this book has helped me to do just that.I feel asv though this book should be a mandatory addition to everyone who is seeking guidance and insight into the world of webcast marketing. It has been a vital asset to my business and I highly recommend it.

My brother is passionate about this environment and I caught him with this book in his collection, so that, he has borrowed it to me. The book has didactic and accurate information, but very brief for me. I think that webcasting is not a subject for 1 day, so I'd rather read a guide to go deeper into the matter, there are many more methods today and guides for the most inexperienced persons. What is missing from this book?, just talk more on the subject. anyway I recommend to the curious in the subject who want to start this wonderful world.

I'm surprised that Prince didn't kill himself with all of the lies that was going around him . Yes he did do his share of dirt but for everyone around him to do what they did for their own selfish reason was just wrong. The only one that ever loved him was Sierra and he even did her wrong by cheating. Glad they got it together and learned from their mistakes. I would recommend this series for everyone to read , they would enjoy it.

I still did not like Prince, He was going to mess around with that Maria hoe again after the party after everything that had happened. All the while talking about how Sierra was the love of his life. That's what got him into trouble in the first place. I just didn't trust him and his decision making. At some point I expect to see growth and maturity in a character and Prince acted like a little boy.. If he loved Sierra liked he said he would have reminded Maria that she was married and that their relationship was simply co-parenting nothing more. I didn't believe he would be faithful to Sierra. I just thought he was lame and I wish the author would have stuck to the title of the series and had Sierra get seriously involved with someone else, like maybe Kaseem, now that would have made for an interesting story, particularly if she got pregnant by him, then Prince's dumb a$$ would have had to accept that.

Everyone in the end got what was coming to them but Prince and Sierra went through some things go get to where they were. I picked this book up and didn't put it down until I finished because the first two had me so hooked that I had to see how it all ended. I was glad to see both Chloe and Maria got what was coming to them. Prince had to go through a lot to get to where he was and I almost got mad at him when he decided to take Maria to the party luckily that didn't go to o far or else that would have been the end for him. In the end the story was good and I'm glad I got to finish the series.

But, I kept reading and am glad I did. At first I thought her boss, Jake, was just a jerk. But, I very quickly began to think he had Asperger's, which is considered a milder form of autism. Having two people close to me who live like this everyday, I could totally relate to Jake, and everyone's frustration with him. And sure enough, Asperger's comes up in reference to Jake later in the book.I would not call this a romance novel, yet it was about romance. But, it's not your normal romance. So readers expecting that might be disappointed. And, Jake's character was so spot on with the cluelessness of social cues, the inability to see how their actions effect others, and the struggle to try to do these things, was so realistic that it makes me wonder if Ms. Kindrix doesn't also have someone in her life like this. You really do have to get to know them to know that they do care and have feelings. The things that bother most people often don't bother them, or they just aren't aware of how others feel. They will often know there is a problem, but be totally clueless of what it is. Direct communication is definitely necessary. I often think it might be harder for them. They are so close to normal, that people immediately see their social faux pas as rudeness and coldness.This is Ms. Kendrix first book, and I could tell. This in no way is meant to be negative. The fact that it is her first book, yet she was able to spin such a witty, different, crucially complex story is something I applaud. If she's starting out this good, it will only get better, and I can't wait to read more. This may not be for everyone as it's not your typical romance. But, it is a light, easy read that has a great anylitically minded story line. Before I really got into the book, and figured out what was happening, I wanted to give it 2 stars. Then, it jumped to 3. Then 3 1/2. And by the middle it had found its way to 4 stars from me. A story worth reading.

This book had a lot of very informative information about that world and it was interesting to read about.I definitely think I would have liked this story more if I hadn't been expecting a romantic comedy. I kept waiting for something to happen, but the romance is a very small part of the story and almost non-existent. I didn't feel any romantic connection between the characters. I wanted flirting, secret glances, stolen kisses, or anything to show interest in each other. I really like the build up of the romance in a story, but felt it was missing.Gwen is a very hardworking and eager-to-please type of woman and she puts way more into her job than she should. She's not only a hard-nosed marketing guru, but she also dabbles in matchmaking, with some successful outcomes. She's a real people person who can really read and assess a person. I really liked her character and personality. I loved the friendship Gwen shares with Malia and the dedication she has towards fixing up her house. She has a way of stating things how they are in a tactful way and I loved watching her in action. She's a very family oriented woman and I loved reading about her interactions with her family. Gwen has an interest in her boss, Jake, but he's a jerk!I'm sure that Jake doesn't mean to be a jerk, but he is. He's very intense, very focused on his job, and has absolutely no social skills. He can't clue in to how others feel and he pushes his employees to work as hard as he does. He admits that he doesn't like to be at home--it's at work where he feels comfortable at and can be himself.I enjoyed the setting--Australia! It was a lot of fun to get to know parts of that country a little better and to catch of glimpse of life there. I felt immersed in the culture with the language that is used in the story and the descriptions of places.Content: no language, violence, or religious elements; extremely mild romance. Clean!*I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review*

The characters were well developed and their interactions in a startup setting were true to life. Jake was my favorite character and I kept picturing him as Sheldon Cooper! The book was really funny too! Highly recommended!

About the Author Ellen Malphrus lives and writes in her native Carolina lowcountry and southwest Montana. Her fiction, poetry, and essays have appeared in Southern Literary Journal, Review of Contemporary Fiction, William and Mary Review, Georgia Poetry Review, Haight Ashbury Literary Journal, and the anthology Essence of Beaufort and the Lowcountry. Lyrical and Beautiful By claire ford fullerton Like silk torn through with shards of glass, this book has a dreamy, sensuous quality interspersed with bursts of glaring reality. Just as I became accustomed to Ellen Malphrus’ lyrical turn of a phrase, “Untying the Moon” explodes with raw energy from the restless spirit of its main character, Bailey Martin, as she seeks to lead an unconventional life, yet is ultimately pulled towards home. When we first meet Bailey, she is outrunning another broken romance and has taken to the open road in her 1967 Buick Skylark with what appears to be a loose plan. She is responsible for and beholden to no one, save for her love of the sea. With descriptions that intuit far more than the eye can see, Bailey’s journey from New York to Maine to Florida to South Carolina is actually an inner exploration that feels like the reconciliation of opposites in a time frame that links the present and past. This is a book so beautifully crafted that one has to reach through its poetry to glimpse its sheer intelligence; its story unfolds in rolling tides that spoke to me of a longing for connection that leads straight to the discovery that what was sought had been there all along. I loved this beautiful book for the strength and honest vulnerability of its main character, as well as for its visual descriptions and artful language. It is an unpredictable story uncommonly told, and I will be recommending it to my friends.

At least, this poet, Ellen Malphrus, doesn't. She shares her sense of place - the low country of South Carolina she knows intimately - with the most evocative language I've ever read about this startling and startlingly beautiful piece of the south. Add to this a main character who, like Aeneas, is a compulsive wanderer, but, unlike Aeneas, is a young woman, and you have a very satisfying reading experience.

The landscape of rivers, salt marshes, maritime forests, and islands are so well described that I fell like I've been there. Malphrus heightens all the senses, every page packed with the poetic devastation of a lobster roll or the tranquility of a sleeping dolphin floating effortlessly down the Jerico River. I immediately fell in love with Bailey Martin, she's in constant motion, at times larger than life, yet still vulnerable.

By Michael P Very practical info and a good reminder for most of the info. The title is especially telling - the ideas presented here are easily incorporated into everyday life - it's that simple. This said, there are a few points that made me really think. I had never coupled money management with health. The connection is correct when taken in the context of the ideas in this book. Sebastian does a great job of tying the importance of both together. I also liked the idea of managed credit card use to reap huge benefits. I will certainly look at the many offers I receive differently now. Thank you for your insight and willingness to share with the rest of us. I especially enjoyed the French twist on the English language. Very enjoyable read. If you are looking for some quick ideas to better money management, I recommend the book.

By Dorothea Creamer I wish I could give the Author J Peach more than a five star rating because she deserves more. She put her heart and soul into this series and I for one appreciate her sharing her talent with the world. She have created characters that are so real that you believe that you know them. There's seven books in this series and with each book there is growth with the story line and the characters. I enjoyed this series so much that with each installment I would start reading from book one all over again, that is way it has taken me so long to finish A Dangerous Love 7. I love the interaction between Blaze and Peaches they kept me laughing out loud at their antics. But when baby Blaze aka Blake was introduced into the series I was laughing so hard that I thought I would have a heart attack because I could not catch my breath, that little boy was the truth. I hope the author develop a series around him and the rest of the kids in the series to see how they turn out along with a series about King and Ebony. The author has covered all the major points that makes a great series. She keeps you emotionally involved with the characters. She have you laughing, crying, trying to solve the mystery that's going on in the book she also give you plenty of action and murder you can't ask for more. She could not have ended this series any better way than she did. I recommend this series to everyone that loves reading you can't go wrong. In fact I love it so much that I have ordered the whole series in paperback form to give as a gift to my niece and I will be ordering the series in paperback form for myself also.

I have no complaints when it came to this series. Every book was well written and flowed together and never left you wondering what happened in between each book. Some people say the books caused them to lose interest after a certain book, but for me personally this series continued to hold my interest. I am going to miss reading about all the characters! They all were something else. Blaze and Peaches dysfunctional relationship had me laughing throughout this entire book. Blake was every bit of his father. That little boy had a mouth on him and don't let me get started on little miss Keema. That little girl was something else. I couldn't do anything except shake my head and laugh. This book was everything. Despite all the craziness I loved the relationship Blaze and Peaches have. They have a relationship people wished they could have. Their love was amazing!!! Peaches played no games about her son Blake. That little boy was everything to her. The bond they had I loved!! I'm so sad this series ended, but I definitely look forward to reading more work from J Peach!!!!
