Makes you feel the highs and lows of reality? Makes you fall in love with or dislike characters? Then Authoress Miss Candice’s “Us Against Everybody” is a must read for you.Two people from different places in life cross paths and become inseparable. Faced with obstacles that are destined to keep them apart they embark on a journey unsure if they will survive through it all. Their bond becomes so deep that it becomes a game of Us Against Everybody. The question is who will win in the end?First, I would like to say that I like books that are different and not your typical “urban/hood” story. I like those that step outside of the box to write from a different perspective/standpoint. With that being said, I have read all of Miss Candice’s books and love them all. So there was no question I had to get this book.Secondly, this book had me so enthralled and engaged from page one until the end. At one point, I tried to go to sleep but couldn’t because I wanted to know what happened. I stayed up and finished the book the same night. Miss Candice has a way with words that makes you feel as though you are there living it with the characters. The flow of this book was just right not too fast and not too slow. The editing issues as usual was minimal. This book keeps you guessing as to what was going to happen next and is not the predictable love story that you may expect. Vice & Storm have a relationship that makes you realize that love makes you do and act in the most unexplainable ways. I thought of the mixture of #HoodLove and Let It Burn by Jazmine Sullivan as a possible theme song for them.Do you want to experience a range of emotions? Do you want to remain captivated until the end? Then this is a must read. I will not say much about the characters for you need to read this for yourself to fully grasp it all especially with Vice and Storm. My new favorite couple! The ending will leave you in shock and demanding the sequel ASAP! Although Vice was arigant and cocky he was good for Storm... I love the love that they have for each other even thought they try so hard to fight it... Storm is put into a difficult situation when her dad meets him and this happens to be someone that he is beefing with... Now Storm has some decisions to make... Not only is Storm dealing with this but also the fact that her best friend is out of control. .. Can she save her friend? The cliff hanger on this book though. .. It has me all in my feelings because I need to know what happens... I am going to need part 2 ASAP...

Storm and Vice just can't do without each other, even though her family doesn't like him. I really like Jai's character and I hope she gets herself together. The chick Cinnamon tried to warn her about Genie. I knew she was trouble from the gate. She was too eager to offer her drugs. I think B is the FEDS something ain't quite right with him. Jai needs to let Ryan be there for her (looks aside) and stop with her gold digging ways. Why do I have a feeling that Keem is about to make an appearence? Can't wait for part 2! Good job Miss Candice

I turned to this Teach Yourself Visually series of books. It didn’t teach me everything about these two programs, but it sure got me started. The bright pictures of the screens were the perfect learning tool for me. I’ve been using an Android tablet and recently broke down and started using a smart phone, also an Android but from another company. A lot of what I needed to know to use them was intuitive but some wasn’t. My friends seemed to be making better use of their smartphone in particular than I was. So I grabbed this book. I like it very much.This book would be good for a complete newbie or someone like me who knows the basic but has gaps in their knowledge. It will show you you're way around the icons and screens, how to find settings, how to make a call--very elementary things. It answers more advanced questions like: What’s the easiest way to share a video? How do you backup the info on your phone? Depending on what your device is your screens may look a little different from what is presented here, but with two devices from different companies I had no trouble following along—they’re both Androids. To sum up, this is a very easy way to learn what you don’t know about using Android phones or tablets. I recommend it.

It begins with a How to Use This Book that clearly explains the conventions used so that the user can see at a glance the way a particular item is organized, e.g., Numbered steps, Bulleted steps, and Indented steps. The Table of Contents shows it covers practically all the topics a user would want to know, like set-up, text and audio input, sharing with others, networking, phoning, apps, web-browsing, e-mail, photos, maps, and trouble-shooting. I might have appreciated some suggestions for especially useful apps, but given the diversity of interests users have this might be too difficult to do.The problem is that there are MANY devices using the Android operating system. This book uses the Google Nexus 5 phone as a reference and a Nexus 7 tablet. Since it is teaching visually, the nice photos and diagrams use these devices. My Samsung Galaxy S5 has many of the controls in different places and different displays, e.g., on the Calendar function, in order to find Settings the book tells me to touch the Menu, which it shows as represented by three horizontal bars, to find Settings. There is an icon with horizontal bars on my Calendar app, but it takes me to selections of Year, Month, Day, etc. There is no label that says Menu on either phone. In order to find Settings on my Calendar, I touch an icon that has three vertical dots. These differences would be especially confusing for a new user ("Am I doing something wrong?").In short, this looks like a nice guide if you own a Nexus, but it is too frustrating to learn from with my Samsung Galaxy S5. I think the title promises too much.

Very good resource but be aware it may not match exactly match your android device's menus By WryGuy2 My wife and I both have android phones ... her's an LG and mine a Samsung. Although both of us are fairly tech savy (she's has a degree in computer science and I'm an engineer), we've never taken the time to learn more than just the basics of our android smart phones, partly because we have several digital cameras, computers, video cams, and the like, and thus haven't seen the need to "learn" a new device. But our latest set of phones have become so comparatively powerful, we decided to become more serious about them.I was pleased to be given the opportunity to review this book, the "Teach Yourself Visually Android Phones and Tablets", as part of the Amazon Vine program, as I find I learn better when text is combined with photos/diagrams of what the text is explaining. The book is broken out into chapters that explain specific topics, such as making calls, texting, transferring files, and so on. I feel that overall, the book delivers on what it promises, and is good for the novice to the person (like me) who generally knows how to work his phone but is missing a lot of its capabilities.My only complaint is that the book is based on the Google Nexus 5 phone, and I found that my phones' menu's didn't always match up with the ones shown in the book. This wasn't really a surprise as there are many, many types of Android phones and tablets, whose manufacturers tweak the Android OS a little for their products. The book was still very useful in that it explained what the capabilities of my phones were and generally showed me how to do things. And it wasn't that hard to figure out where to find the stuff that wasn't in the right place, so to speak. Overall, this is a useful book for someone wanting to learn more about using their android device. Four stars.

She is thinking that she will never see him again. She is a curvy girl whose self esteem is on the rise, thanks to Ciaran. He walks in the door of her bakery with an offer she can't refuse.I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I'm still not really sure about this series, but the interaction between Beth and Ciaran is beginning to develop into something. I have read other BDSM books (I think that is what this is) that I could give a higher review, but this book makes me feel like something is lacking, and I am not sure exactly what is missing. Not just from this book, but this serial. I really think you have to judge for yourself.

By Elisa Rolston I started reading this book at Pender Harbour which is where my family went every summer. When the author was talking about "racing" to catch the ferry and getting seasick on the Sunshine Coast highway it seemed like he was talking about my own childhood.I went boating with my family to Desolation Sound many summers during my childhood, but I didn't know half of the information about the history of the place. I never knew about the "Cougar Lady" or any of those people.When we went boating this summer, we where chatting about many of the locations that the author talks about. It was fascinating to find remnants of an old homestead that we didn't even know about. We even found one of the huge walnut trees next to an old outhouse. It was fascinating.Thankfully, I was too young to know much about the Lund Pub, but we really enjoy Nancy's Bakery these days. Lund has definitely gone through some upgrades since I was a kid.The in-depth accounts of the psychological effects that happened to people who tried to live "off the grid" are really good too. People often have very "romantic" notions about living "off the grid" or "exiting civilization" and I think the chapters about people who did that and then slowly went "nuts" as a result is a good reality check. By stuartm ...you'll enjoy Grant Lawrence's first book.In many ways this feels like a travel book - Grant conveys a real sense of place as he takes you to Desolation Sound (found on the west coast of British Columbia, at the top Georgia Strait and east of Vancouver Island). But this is as much an autobiography and reminiscence as it is about this obscure corner of the world.The book is the better for this personal perspective. We learn about Desolation Sound and its quirky residents through the eyes of Grant Lawrence, from his reluctant childhood introduction to this Canadian Outback through to his fully embrace of its charms as an adult.The stories Grant relates are often funny and more than occasionally touching. Grant's wry, self-deprecating wit and matter of fact prose will remind readers of Bill Bryson or Garrison Keillor. Make no misatke though, Grant's voice is his own.Reading Adventures in Solitude, we see Desolation Sound through eyes that are keen in their insight and affectionate in their gaze. The best compliment I can give is that I spent much of the book looking at Google Maps and dreaming of a summer vacation past the end of the road.

These stories are funny, filled with history and reminders to live life well. We are ready for the next book that Grant writes.We have bought a boat load of copies to hand to friends. We read to them during their visits with us. One chapter and they are hooked. We send them home with their own copy.Makes a great gift.

I really appreciate the example company that the book uses to allow us to create objects to support the warehouse model. The download files were easy to find, and the course has been pretty much frustration-free.

By Donna feibusch I enjoyed reading The Billionaire's Fantasy - Part 3 (The Forbidden Series), all about Louise Jensen a professor at Columbia University in Women's Studies & Jaiven Rodreguze the owner & CEO of JR Shipping. In Part 1 Louise & Jaiven traded looks at an engagement party for her sister, then left and spent the night together. In part two the couple is still together exploring each other thru a few adventures. In part three the couple has broken up but meet at a dinner party that her sister & fiancé are trying to fix them up at. Neither lets the other couple know they were together before and play act their indifference to each other but at the end they walk home together. The author wrote a very interesting story, that spans the entire series, and the characters make the stories come to life. Both Louise & Jaiven have both lead abusive life's, and are trying to overcome their pasts and be with each other! Read this series and fall in love with these two characters. I can't wait till part four comes out!

About the Author

Terry Greene Clark's B.S. and M.B.A. did not help her as she stumbled her way through the early stages of the college application process with her first child, an aspiring college athlete. A year later when it started all over again with her son, she realized there was even more to learn with this music and business major. At this point, she thought of writing this book to help other parents facing the same challenges. It was in the process of launching her third child with interests in science into the college realm that this book finally came to fruition.

I had no knowledge of the extensive scope of higher education when my eldest daughter entered her junior year of high school. I kept asking myself, “Why am I struggling so much?” I have decided that this difficulty stemmed from two main facts. First, I have been there and done this before. As a matter of fact, I did it all by myself with little help from any high school advisor or my parents. As a child of an Irish immigrant, I was the first in my immediate family to attend and graduate from any college. "Why is this so different?" My second reason is an extension of the first. I am an educated woman. I have worked in corporate America and played a role in a family business. "Why don’t I get this?"

I have spent so much time in the last 5+ years talking to friends, family, and new acquaintances at coffees, lunches and social events discussing the college process only to discover that everyone has questions and anxiety about college for their teenagers. I also learned that the college search, application and matriculation process will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. It is exciting, frustrating, demanding, overwhelming, joyful, and bittersweet for parents and their children. My hope is that this book will provide you with valuable information to make your journey a little easier.

It gives a clear and concise process for guiding you and your child through the college admissions journey. This step by step guide is full of all the information you need to attain your goals. The author includes her own personal experiences known in the book as "reality checks" which gives the reader a genuine, emotional feel.

I definitely learned some very useful strategies and would highly recommend this book to anyone that is looking for practical information from a reliable - and relatable - source.

Scott Norris

Scott Norris is currently a senior consultant in VMware's Professional Services Organization (PSO). He specializes in multiple VMware technologies, such as ESXi, vCenter, vRA, vCD, vCOps (vROps ), vRO, SRM, and vRealize Automation Application Services. Prior to VMware, Scott worked for HP Australia and was the VMware SME for the APAC region. In this role, he did everything from breaking and fixing to architecting solutions for clients all over the region. For the last 6 years, Scott has worked exclusively on VMware products and technologies, supporting small environments, from a single server office to large federal government environments with hundreds of hosts. Scott Norris is a 32-year-old father of two. He has been an IT professional for 11 years minus a small hiatus in which he fought and won the battle against non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Outside of work, Scott enjoys messing around in his test lab, playing with his children, or kicking back laying the smack down in Halo on the Xbox. Christopher Slater

Christopher Slater is a managing consultant working for VMware as part of the Professional Services Organization (PSO). He specializes in SDDC technologies and methodologies such as vSphere, vRealize Operations Manager, and Infrastructure and Platform as a Service (IaaS/PaaS) through vRealize Automation. He is a VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX-DV #102) and acquired a bachelor of IT degree from the Australian National University. Chris's primary customer base is the Australian Federal Government, which has allowed him to work in some of the largest vSphere environments in Australia. He is in his late 20s and is grateful for the support from his wife, Nicola, and two children, Sophia and Daniel. Outside of work, Chris enjoys gaming and watching Hobbit and Frozen (for the 100th time) with his kids. Warnings start showing up...a signature of someone who wants retribution The signs start small, and begin to escalate. Tisha feels like a prisoner in her own home.Sergeant Cameron Chase is beside himself having to stir all those feelings the victims family went through. He's just doing his job. Problems really got stirred up, when his brother found out he would be questioning Kaitlyn...It had to be done, because Cameron couldn't play favorites...The tension between Bradley and Tisha grew. What kind of parents could raise such monsters? They second guessed themselves. The whole town hated them..It was a touching, terrifying book at times..So well written. By sylviasmith04 Retribution is defined as,"punishment inflicted on someone as vengeance for a wrong or criminal act."If you haven't read the Profile series, do it now and then read this book. Alexa Grace brings us into the world of police procedure and gives us a view of all of the people involved; from the victims, to the families, to the police and how they solve the mysteries. You will not be disappointed. From the way the story unfolds, to the characters, and the plot and timeline, it is a roller coaster ride of the emotional gamut. I love Alexa's writing style and the stories she writes.How does a community already reeling from the murders committed by Jim Ryder survive the pain and suffering caused by the "Gamers" Evan and Devin? How are the families of their 7 victims going to get passed the loss of their loved ones? How will the mother and father of the 2 teenage boys known as the gamers ever recover and learn to live with the knowledge of what their children did to those girls? No one ever stops and considers how the parents are coping with the horror of what the children they gave life to and raised are going through, until now.For the answers to those questions and more you must read "Profile of Retribution" by Alexa Grace!Who is out for retribution and who are the targets and why? This book is a solid 5 star read!
