Nina Granville believes her business trip to Alaska will give her a short respite from the merry-go-round that came with her engagement to Congressman Terrence Donnelly. But instead of allowing her the peace she craves, Nina’s getaway from the public eye means that no one witnesses her abduction into a very cold hell.

Taken by a mountain man who calls himself Baer and then transported to a remote cabin surrounded by nothing but frozen wilderness, Nina descends into a nightmare of terror, privation, and bitter cold. Nina’s privileged life did not prepare her for imprisonment at the hands of this survivalist trapper. If she is to live—and to escape—Nina realizes she must do it on her own.

Undaunted and with startling determination, Nina pits herself against her captor, her fear, and nature itself in a battle for her life—but can she win against such deadly opponents?

Good main character development, exciting plot, interesting descriptions of the harsh environment of Alaska. There was enough description of the horrors face by the main character, but it was not overly graphic. Once they leave Alaska, the book is terrible. It has rushed, poorly detailed narratives, and the only reason you don't see the twist coming is that the main character doesn't tell us (even though she knows).Did the author take two different books and squash them together? Did he want to write part two, but just didn't have enough to make a second entire book? He should have stopped while he was ahead. I can even see ways he could have included the last twist without rushing through the whole second plot. Why did the editors allow this? I was very disappointed, since the last part ruined my love for the main book.

16 of 18 people found the following review helpful. An Alaska story to curl your toes--if they haven't frozen off. By Jim Misko In the interest of full disclosure, I critiqued the Alaska scenes for the author because I've been a frequent visitor to the wilds of Alaska and have lived here 42 years. Robert Masello, another excellent author of "Einstein's Prophecy" introduced us by email and we have become friends. Never the less, I found his characters--which I did not assist with--and his plot--same--spine tingling. How a nice gentle giant like Alan can come up with these plots is beyond my simple brain. I usually judge a book by the way I feel about getting back to it at night. We read several hours each night and if I'm really looking forward to reading it and there is an anxiety and desire to find out what's to happen next, I give it good ratings. "A Cold War," is factually accurate, scary, and powerful in its conclusion. If you enjoy putting a book down after the last page with a smile on your face, you're gonna love this one--and his previous books as well.

Will be reading every book he writes. In this one Nina character is comfortable in her skin, and smart, strong woman. Ending is very shocking, you can't put it down. Drunk lots of hot tea to keep warm.

There is at least 3-4 poems that you will undoubtedly relate to. I Remember the Dog, Chaos, and Constructing A Poem in High School are a few that bring back memories. You can feel the emotion of each word, and picture going to each place in your mind. Bravo.

7 of 8 people found the following review helpful. Android Game Programming for Dummies By Fred This book won't please everyone for sure. If you are new to Java programming and have never imagine how a game can be programmed, then you will probably find that book super valuable and give it a 4 or 5 rating, since you will learn what the game loop is about, how to handle a character, understand the world coordinates, etc. However, if you have an experienced Java developer, you may be extremely disappointed by the level of Java used in this book. Very common things like enums, singletons, (or even sometime a loop!) etc. are just not used when the code cries for them. If you have already read a book about game programming, then the value of this book will go probably significantly lower, and you may give it a 2.So, depending on who you are, you may find this book very good (Java beginner, no game programming experience) or so so (Java seasoned developer and/or game programming knowledgeable).Packt should remove "The book is best suited for existing Android or Java programmers who want to adapt their skills to make exciting Android games." from their web site and let "The book is also for determined readers who might have no Android, game programming or even Java experience, but a reasonable understanding of object oriented programming knowledge is assumed." which is very close to the truth.

By Hugo I think the title is wrong, this isn't just a programming book, this is a complete game development course, the author starts by talking about what you will have at the end, them he introduces every game talking about the foundations not just code and result, you are introduced to good practices to achieve your game complete, it is fundamental in my opinion to have a project complete, the programming part is really good as he is presenting the critical points of the game structure in natural basis, you understand what he does because you understand the need of that code part. I think that the difficult of this book is between intermediate to advanced, but he made a book that everyone who wants to make a mobile game can start with solid basis. All the projects has its own focus and difficult level, I think they shown almost every feature you need to make a good 2d mobile game.

"Edna Chun and Alvin Evans recognize the pivotal role that department heads and departments play in the structure, culture and climate of our colleges and universities. For diversity and inclusion efforts to really make progress, they must be nurtured and implemented at the grassroots level in each department where personnel decisions are made." --Santa J. Ono, President , University of Cincinnati With the imminent demographic shifts in our society and the need to prepare students for citizenship in a global, knowledge-based society, the role of the academic department chair in creating diverse and inclusive learning environments is arguably the most pivotal position in higher education today. In the United States, increasing minority student enrollment coupled with the emergence of a minority majority American nation by 2042 demands that academic institutions be responsive to these changing demographics. The isolation of the ivory tower is no longer an option. This is the first book to address the role of the department chair in diversity and addresses an unmet need by providing a research-based, systematic approach to diversity leadership in the academic department based upon survey findings and in-person interviews. The department chair represents the nexus between the faculty and the administration and is positioned uniquely to impact diversity progress. Research indicates that more than 80 percent of academic decisions regarding appointment, curriculum, tenure and promotion, classroom pedagogy, and student outcomes are made by the department chair in consultation with the faculty. This book examines the multidimensional contributions that chairs make in advancing diversity within their departments and institutions in the representation of diverse faculty and staff; in tenure and promotion; curricular change; student learning outcomes; and departmental climate. The scope and content of the book is not limited to institutions in the United States but is applicable to academic institutions globally in their efforts to address the access and success of increasingly diverse student populations. It addresses institutional power structures and the role of the dean in relation to the appointment of chairs and their impact on the success of chairs from non-dominant groups, including female, minority, and lesbian/gay/transgendered individuals who serve in predominantly white male departments. Using qualitative and quantitative research methods, the book analyzes predominant structural and behavioral barriers that can impede diversity progress within the academic department. It then focuses upon the opportunities and challenges chairs face in their collaborative journey with faculty and administration toward inclusive departmental and institutional practices. Each chapter provides concrete strategies that chairs can use to strengthen diversity in the academic department.Addressed to department chairs, deans, faculty, and administrative leaders in higher education in all Western societies facing demographic change and global challenges, this book offers a critical road map to creating the successful academic institutions that will meet the needs of our changing populations.

The Department Chair as Transformative Diversity Leader: Building Inclusive Learning Environments in Higher Education, by Edna Chun, Alvin Evans

Review "Edna Chun and Alvin Evans recognize the pivotal role that department heads and departments play in the structure, culture and climate of our colleges and universities. For diversity and inclusion efforts to really make progress, they must be nurtured and implemented at the grassroots level in each department where personnel decisions are made." (Santa J. Ono, President)From the Foreword:“The literature on academic leadership and diversity is silent. While a proliferation of new books have been published on the challenges and skills needed to effectively lead a departments, none of the books have directly addressed the issue of building an inclusive department and advancing diversity. This book moves well beyond the usual book on diversity--or department chair development. It blends the two into a powerful and authoritative resource guide for academic leaders: (1) a conceptual framework for understanding the importance and challenge of diversity; and (2) practical strategies gleaned from their qualitative research with department chairs. It is a compendium of important insights and essential information for championing the cause of diversity and effective leadership. It is difficult for me to envision any authors more qualified than Edna Chun and Alvin Evans to address one of the most important topics in higher education today. They possess not only mature thinking and an investigative mindset, but their study is richly enhanced by department chair testimonials which provide personal insights and tried and true strategies to advance the diversity agenda. I recommend this splendid book without a single reservation to not only department chairs but deans and provosts who are, or should be, serious about building inclusive excellence in their institutions.” (Walt Gmelch, former Dean and Professor of Leadership Studies)"Regardless of the institution where you are, this groundbreaking book is a must read for all department chairs seeking concrete tools and strategies for successfully implementing diversity in their departments. It provides practical, research-based approaches representative of best practices from across the United States. Additionally, this book will be a useful tool for faculty, deans, provosts and others working with department chairs who wish to advance the process of diversity transformation." (Bernice Bass de Martinez, Ph.D., Foreign Languages)

About the Author Edna Chun is Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Two of their books, Are the Walls Really Down? Pursued (The Diamond Tycoons), by Tracy Wolff

About the Author Tracy Wolff collects books, English degrees and lipsticks. At six she wrote her first short story and ventured into the world of girls' lit. By ten she'd read everything in the young adult and classics sections of her local bookstore, so started on romance novels. And from the first page, she'd found her life-long love. Tracy lives in Texas with her husband and three sons, where she writes and teaches at the local college. She can be reached online at www.tracywolff.com.

He was the most beautiful man she'd ever seen.Desi Maddox knew that sounded excessive, melodramatic even, considering she was standing in a room filled with beautiful people in even more beautiful clothes, but the longer she stood there staring at him, the more convinced she became. He. Was. Gorgeous. So gorgeous that for long seconds he blinded her to everything around her, even the glitter of gems and flash of high society that under normal circumstances would be impossible to ignore. But these were far from normal circumstances. How could they be when his emerald gaze met hers over the sea of people stretching between them and her knees trembled. Actually trembled. Up until now, she'd always thought that was a cliché best saved for chick flicks and romance novels. But here she was in the middle of a crowded ballroom and all she could do was stand there as her heart raced, her palms grew damp and her knees actually trembled with the force of her reaction to a man she'd never seen before and more than likely would never see again.Which was probably a good thing, and knowing she wouldn't see him again was exactly what she needed to remind herself why she was here among the best and brightest of San Diego's high society. Scoping out hot men was definitely not what her boss was paying her for.More's the pity.Shaking her head in an effort to clear it, Desi forced herself to glance away from his mesmerizing gaze. Forced herself to check out the rest of the fancy gala, and the fancier people, she was currently stuck in the middle of. And the people were fancy, some of the fanciest she'd ever seen. Even he—of their own volition, her eyes moved back to Tall, Dark and Much Too Handsome—was fancy, in his five-thousand-dollar tuxedo and the flashing diamonds on his cuff links. She couldn't hope to compare. Not that she wanted to. This was so not her scene, and once she'd paid her dues, her boss would recognize that fact and move her somewhere else. Somewhere where she could actually make a difference to the world. After all, what did it matter if the wife of the mayor of San Diego was wearing Manolos or Louboutins on her dainty, pampered feet?It mattered too much, she told herself wryly as she looked around the crowded ballroom. To a lot of people, it mattered too much. Which was why, on her next sweep of the room, she made herself take her time, made herself study—and identify—each face that passed by. As she did, she didn't know whether to be pleased or horrified that she recognized nearly every person there. It was her job, after all, and it was nice to know that the hours she'd spent poring over old newspaper articles and photos hadn't gone to waste. After all, unlike the rest of the people here, her role wasn't to drink champagne and drop a lot of money on the charity auction. No, her role, her job, was to stay on guard and pay attention to what everyone else was doing so she could write all about it when she got home. If she was lucky—if she kept her eyes open and her mouth shut—and the stars actually aligned, someone would say or do something really scandalous or important and she'd have the chance to write about that instead of the food, the wine and whatever designer was currently "it" among Southern California's social elite. And if she wasn't lucky, well then she still had to pay attention. Still needed to record who was dating whom and who had made a fashion faux pas and who hadn't…And yes, her job as the society-page reporter for the local paper really was as boring as it sounded. She tried not to let herself dwell on the fact that she'd spent four years at Columbia's School of Journalism only to end up here. Her father would be so proud of her—that is, if he hadn't been killed six months ago while embedded with troops in the Middle East.A waiter passed by with a tray full of champagne flutes, and she reached out and snagged one of the halffull glasses. Drained it in one long—and hopefully elegant—sip. Then blocked her father's death and disapproval from her mind. She needed to focus on the job at hand. Currently, that job was reporting on this ridiculous affair. To do her job, though, she needed to blend in with her surroundings. Not that she had much of a chance of actually doing that with her department-store dress and clearance shoes, but she could try. At least until her boss saw the light and took her off this godforsaken beat to put her on something a little more important. And more interesting, she thought, barely smothering yet another yawn as she overheard her fifth conversation of the night about liposuction.Wanting to free up her hands, she turned to place her glass on the empty tray of yet another passing waiter. As she did, though, her eyes once again met dark green ones. And this time, the man they belonged to was only a couple of feet from her instead of halfway across the crowded ballroom. She didn't know whether to run or rejoice. In the end, she did neither. Instead, she just stared—stupefied—up into his too-gorgeous face and tried to think of something to say that wouldn't make her sound like a total moron. It didn't work. Her usually quick mind was a total blank, suddenly filled with nothing but images of him. High cheekbones. Shaggy black hair that fell over his forehead. Wickedly gleaming emerald eyes. Sensuous mouth turned up in a wide, charming smile. Broad shoulders. Lean hips. And tall, so tall that she was forced to look up despite the fact that she stood close to six feet in her four-inch heels. The word beautiful really didn't do him justice. Neither did any other word she could think of at the moment. For a second, she was assailed by the fear that she might actually be drooling over the man, something that had never happened before in her twenty-three years of existence. Then again—she reached a discreet hand up to her chin to double-check and nearly sighed in relief when she found it still dry—she'd never seen a man like this up close before.Hell, whom was she kidding? she asked herself as her knees trembled for the second time that night. She'd never seen a man like this before ever, in real life or in pictures. And yet, here he was, standing right in front of her, his right hand holding a glass of champagne that he was quite obviously extending toward her."You look thirsty," he said, and—of course—his voice matched the rest of him. Deep and dark and wickedly amused. So wickedly amused. Suddenly her knees weren't all that was trembling. Her hand, as it reached for the glass of champagne, was shaking, as well. What was wrong with her?Besides the fact that her libido had obviously overpowered her brain? she asked herself viciously. But as she stood there, watching him watch her, she figured she'd better find a way to get her brain functioning again. Because the man obviously wasn't going anywhere until he got a response…even if she had no idea how she was supposed to respond to his observation that she was thirsty…Eventually, though, her brain, and her sense of humor, kicked in. Thank God. "Funny, I was just thinking the same thing about you." It wasn't the wittiest comeback, but it would do."Were you?" His mouth curved in a crooked grin that did something strange to her stomach. "Well, you wouldn't be wrong." Then he lifted his own glass of champagne to his lips and took a deep drink. She watched, mesmerized, for long seconds before she managed to shake herself out of it. Jeez! How far gone was she that even watching him swallow was turning her on? Maybe she should just walk away now and cut her losses while she still could.Even as the thought came to her, she knew she wouldn't do it. Partly because she wasn't sure her knees would hold her if she tried to walk away and partly…partly because in that moment there was nowhere she'd rather be than right there, smiling up at this charming, beautiful man—and having him smile back at her."I'm Nic, by the way," he said, after he'd watched her take a slow, steadying drink from her own glass."I'm Desi." She held out her hand. He took it, but instead of shaking her hand as she'd expected, he just held it as he gently stroked his thumb across her palm. The touch was so soft, so intimate, so not what she'd been expecting, that for long seconds she didn't know what to do. What to say. A tiny voice inside her whispered for her to let go, to step back, to walk away from the attraction that was holding them in thrall. But it was drowned out by the heat, the attraction, the sizzle that arced between them like lightning."Would you like to dance, Desi?" he asked, taking the glass from her other hand and depositing it on a passing tray. She should say no. She had a million things to do here tonight and none of those things involved getting swept onto the dance floor by some hot, rich guy who had probably forgotten more about seduction than she'd ever known. But even as the thought occurred to her, even knowing that she might very well get burned before the night was over, she nodded. Then she let him lead her gently toward the center of the room. Playing with fire was a cliché for a reason. The band was playing a slow song—of course it was—and he pulled her into his arms, started to move her across the crowded floor. He held her closer than was necessary or expected for a first dance between strangers. One hand on her lower back, his fingers curving over the soft swell of her hip. His other hand continuing to hold, continuing to stroke, her own. His hard, strong chest brushing against her own with each step they took. His thighs doing the same.Deep inside, Desi felt herself melting. Felt herself falling a little more under his spell. She knew it was stupid, ridiculous, insane, but for the first time in her life, she didn't care. She didn't care if it was a bad idea to let him touch her. Didn't care if she'd regret it later. Didn't care, even, if she ended up getting in trouble at work because she'd spent time with Nic that she should have spent trying to pry quotes out of the local celebrities. Which, if she stopped to think about it, didn't make sense at all. She was a woman who lived to work, who was dying to make a name for herself as a journalist. The fact that she would put that at risk for a man she'd just met was absurd. She wasn't that girl, had never been—and never wanted to be—that girl. And yet, here she was, moving closer instead of back. Arching forward so that her breasts and her thighs brushed more firmly against him, instead of walking away. Surrendering instead of putting up a fight. The gleam in Nic's eyes as he looked down at her was as obvious as his rock-hard pelvis pressing against her own. Instead of offending her, it aroused her. Instead of making her scurry for cover, it made her clamor for more. One night never hurt anyone, after all. And neither did one kiss. Or at least that was her story for this evening and she was sticking to it.Which was why, after taking a deep breath, she tightened her hand where it rested against the back of his neck and pulled him forward. Pulled him down, down, down, until their bodies were meshed together and his lips met hers. Two She was delicious. It was the only thing Nic Durand could think as his lips met those of the beautiful blonde in his arms. Desi, she'd said her name was, he remembered as he fought to keep from getting completely lost in the feel of her soft hands on his neck and her lush body pressed so tightly against his own.It was a lot harder not to get lost than it should have been. A lot harder than it had ever been. He'd met—and charmed—a lot of women in his life, but never had he been so affected by one. Never had he come so close to forgetting who and where he was when he was with one—even one as gorgeous, and amusing, as Desi. But here he was, attending his first charity gala since he and his brother had moved the headquarters of their diamond company to San Diego earlier that year, and all he could think about was getting his hands and mouth all over a woman he'd just met.As second in command of Bijoux, he was in charge of marketing, advertising and public relations. It was his job to come to these ridiculous galas, his job to schmooze and donate pieces to the silent auction in an effort to continue building the philanthropic reputation of the business he and his brother, Marc, had poured their hearts and souls into ever since they'd taken over more than a decade before. The fact that he'd rather just give all that money straight to charity meant nothing. After all, experience had proved that buying seats at boring, trumped-up galas like this one always earned his company good PR. And good PR was the name of the game, especially when you were one of the new kids. And not just any new kid, but one determined to shake up the old system and make things happen. It was the best way to gain access. He'd come here tonight with an agenda—people to meet, business to do—but all it had taken was one look at Desi, one conversation with her, one feel of her pressed against him while dancing, to make all of that fly out the window. And he didn't give a damn.It was odd. Crazy, even. But he wasn't going to fight it, he decided as he slid his hand down her spine to rest against her lower back. Not when a simple kiss with her was hotter and more exciting than anything he'd done with any other woman. With that thought in mind, he put a little pressure on her back, pressed her forward…and more tightly against him. She moaned a little at the contact, her mouth opening with the sound, and he took instant advantage by licking his way across the little dip in her upper lip, then across the soft fullness of her lower one. She gasped a little, her hands sliding up to clutch at his tuxedo shirt. It was all the invitation he needed.Delving inside her then, he swept his tongue along her own. Once, twice, then again and again. Teasing, touching, tasting her. Learning her flavors…and her secrets.Despite her sharp cool looks—all platinum-blond hair and ice-blue eyes, striking cheekbones and long, slender body—Desi was heat and spice. Cinnamon and cloves, overlaid by just a hint of the crisp, sweet champagne they had shared. The warmth of her seduced him, drew him in—drew him under—until all he could think of, all he could want, was her.

Loved that he loved her so much to make up for the lack of love in her life. And THAT is after her paper tried to take down his business.Loved it. Another amazing book from Tracy Wolff. I was confused at first. I soon realized that Pursued is taking place at the same time as Claimed. Just a different brother, Marc. But still loved it.

SO DONE WITH HARLEQUIN BOOKS By Kindle Customer Yep, another " I can't fall for you because you may hurt poor little ol' bitchy me, but I will screw your brains out the first night I meet you". YUCK AND I'll screw you and your business so maybe I can be a journalist when I grow up. Have you never heard of FREELANCE? Why do characters in books now think they are so smart they can make decisions for the hero? Martyrs aren't required. I'm over monotonous story lines and weak bitch heroines. Both brothers, Nic and Marc deserved better than the women they got.

The Enterprise Cloud: Best Practices for Transforming Legacy IT, by James Bond

Review "A cloud systems integrator would charge me tens of thousands of dollars for the guidance and lessons learned in this book. I wish I had this design, deployment, and operational guidance when I deployed my enterprise private cloud-- I could have saved so much time." --John Burkholder, Systems Architect, NORC at the University of Chicago "Finally, an industry insider provides actionable guidance on how to begin your cloud journey."    --Wes Hogentogler, Director, Pure Integration"James Bond has painstakingly and methodically written what I consider to be one of the definitive books on the subject of the Enterprise Cloud...  I learned a great deal from reading this...  I highly recommend it!"   --Dennis Devlin, Chief Information Office and SVP at SAVANTURE

From the Author Almost every day during my professional career in the cloud computing industry, CIOs and IT managers ask me: "how do I actually get started planning and transitioning to cloud.  I'm sold on the concepts and don't need another "sales pitch" to convince me--I just need guidance on  how to move forward moving from traditional IT and managed services to a new cloud- based service environment."  This is why I created this book.  Not to repeat more content as to how cloud computing can benefit your organization, but how to plan and deploy a cloud environment including operational management, security, governance, and transformation from a legacy IT department.

About the Author James Bond is a subject matter expert in cloud computing with over 25 years of experience in the IT industry. He is a true cloud industry pioneer having created several successful companies, business practices, and hosted infrastructure and software services long before the term cloud computing was first used. James is a Chief Technologist for Hewlett Packard (HP) providing cloud strategy, guidance, and implementation planning to Fortune 100 organizations that are planning a transition from legacy IT to cloud. Excellent book, highly recommended for CIOs and IT managers By Wolfgang Thankfully this book didn't try to sell me on the benefits or features of cloud like so many other publications. I got realistic advice and examples on how to build my company's private (author calls it Enterprise) cloud. The chapters on deployment, operations, and cloud management platforms were very detailed and useful.

A very well written, thorough and readable guide By E.Swope The Enterprise Cloud: Best Practices for Transforming Legacy IT is hands-down one of the best written, most thorough and easy to read manuals I have encountered. James Bond has written a simple, straight-forward and very readable guide to engaging the cloud in your business (or home). He discusses the costs and benefits, history and a glimpse of the future. Each chapter provides an overview, discussion and brief summary (in the form of key takeaways) making it easier to absorb and remember large amounts of information. Diagrams and a glossary are provided as well as scenarios which illustrate each concept making it comprehensible even for those of us who are not IT professionals.I was surprised to read that only a small fraction of businesses have transitioned to cloud computing, given the cost savings, speed of deployment, and even space savings (a very significant factor in many cities). If you are considering moving your business to the cloud, or in the early stages of setting up a business which could benefit from cloud services, I would heartily recommend this guide. It will bring you up to speed quickly, potentially providing large savings and preventing mistakes. It also provides food for thought in terms of future trends and for many will key you in to available technology and services which you may not have known existed. As he notes in closing, it is not if, but when and how you transition. If you need an overview of the process, or something to help you keep pace with this fast-moving industry, this is an excellent book which will give you the tools to understand the costs and benefits, make better decisions and avoid costly errors.

I've been in IT as long as James and have not been able to read an IT related book for more than an hour at a time without falling asleep. I had a hard time putting this book down. Nice job Mr. Bond! Very informative and straight to the point.

Good lighting is everything in portraiture. The right light sculpts our subjects, smooths the skin, evens skin tones, and helps create the feeling of a third dimension in a two-dimensional image. The gold standard of lighting has, for the better part of a century, been produced by artificial lights (hot lights or strobes) in the studio. These sources allow for precise lighting effects on demand. However, artificial light cannot match the beauty or ambience that gorgeous natural light creates—and studio lighting can break the bank.In part 1 of this book, Carl Caylor introduces readers to a failproof method for understanding, shaping, and harnessing natural light for dazzling results that rival studio-lighting looks. Using your powers of observation, an understanding of the physics of light, and employing a couple of inexpensive tools (reflector panels to bounce light and a gobo to block light), Caylor shows you how to make the most of the sunlight for indoor and outdoor location shoots—and even studio work. You’ll learn how to tweak the direction of light and manipulate lighting angles to re-create classic portrait lighting styles—short lighting, broad lighting, Rembrandt lighting, and more—that flatter and contour your subjects’ facial structures to make them look their very best.In part 2 of the book, Carl provides an in-depth analysis into the techniques he used to create 60 beautiful natural-light portraits in myriad locations and circumstances, producing a wide range of portrait looks. Readers will learn how to integrate other elements that are important to building an effective portrait—including prop selection, wardrobe, composition, expression, posing, and even planning for a top-notch, contrasty black & white shot. The text in this book, along with inspirational images, will coax many readers to enjoy a “back to basics” approach that will allow them to produce technically exquisite and profoundly artful, flattering portraits that will sell themselves to clients every time.
