Making apps is a good way to make money, our phones and computers are ran by apps (for apple users at least). This book will give you the simple run down of how an app works and how you get started into app development. It also gives you side tips and facts (like codes for programming). It's pretty easy to understand even if you aren't good at programming. I won't give away all the information, but it has useful advice.

Allie and best friend Del being human, quarreling and making up for that is what true friends do. Our imperfections unconditional. I'm a 50+, petite, versatile woman, avid reader with imagination. In Leslie Leigh's previous three books I noticed she was the only author who did not focus, write of the ages of her characters. The focal points on looks, personalities, minor and major details, daily living. Other than why did Allie always end up playing musical chairs leading to stardom of death noting how and the why's. I allowed myself lead role attempting to tie the loose ends into the knot singing before Allie. No age lines to forget then with resonance of a D flat the smooth oak arms, velvet covered seats folded leaving me to ponder over Allie's age, length of marriage verses Tom's years of college, competence and production to become an excellent, respected thoracic MD..puzzling me. I was a Nurse before retiring so you can imagine. Drifting off as Allie frequently does interrupted by the tone of my cell concomitant I promptly answered. A deep male voice loudly bellowed, "To the young...to the young readers it does matter even though it murders our pleasure of being in the spotlight. Enjoy Leslie's book. Remember Allie's age makes no difference AlleyCat." The hustle bustle of the play alive again with sounds from the orchestra practicing, voices fading to almost yelling with tension in the air. Age doesn't matter, my last thoughts before the light turned to black. "Allie Griffin is back or AllyCat as my close friends call me." Thanks Officer...

It is a quick and fun look at many parts of children’s lives in China. We learn about a few different things from food to language and many things in between. It’s easy to understand and is an easy way to open up discussions about the culture and the people of China.As the title of the book states this book is an introduction to another culture, so it is only a glimpse into the Chinese world. It shows how children can be the same yet different all around the world. It gives facts about the country itself as well as the people and even includes a pronunciation guide. With easy and fun dialogue this book entertains and educates at the same time. This little book is packed full of information for readers. It was nice to see a pronunciation guide so that readers do not feel intimidated and can truly see how the actual words sound.I like the way the book interacts with the reader. It teaches you and asks you quick little questions here and there to make it interesting for the younger readers.If You Were Me and Lived in China is a good book to share the Chinese culture. We are Asian and this book is an easy way to show other children what our lives are like it answers many questions some children have. By Dalai Momma Along with the book Captain No Beard: An Imaginary Tale of a Pirate's LifeI also received a copy of If You Were Me and Lived in...China: A Child's Introduction to Culture Around the World Something very much different from the first book but still a great read for kids.Just as in the first book I figured what better way to give an honest review on a childrens book than to go over it with my kids to see how this story holds up. I will say this book is better suited for children a little older simply because there is a lot of wording...and with a lot of wording comes the chance that little minds lose interest right away. My 7 year old held on to the end...my 4 year old walked away..came back..walked away. Still I have to say between my 7 year old and myself we really enjoyed the book. Great illustrations..vivid colors..adorable..by Kelsea Wierenga. It's like a travel book for children. Giving the child an opportunity to learn about a culture..places to visit...dialect..foods to eat...it was fun and informative. A really great idea to teach kids something so wonderful as a new place in the world that they may have never been.Again, I think this type of book is centered maybe more for older kids past the age of 7 just because there is such rich information that smaller children's attention spans won't grasp. But still my 4 year old still loved looking at the pictures with us and we have had a good laugh the day he called his father "Ba-Ba" (Chinese word for Daddy)..so you see, at his age he learned something from this book...WIN WIN for Mommy...or rather "Maa-Ma"I received my free copy of the book thanks to the peeps at The Children's Book Reviews and to Carole P. Roman is a very good book collection for teaching some basics about other countries to young learners. The books are good starting points for learning about foreign cultures and customs. The books are tailored to children 3 to 8 years old, and contain interesting facts about the countries and colorful illustrations.The books are all in the 20-25 page range and contain a pronunciation guide on the last page. We were provided review volumes and my wife uses them in her preschool classroom to introduce other cultures and customs to the students.This China edition teaches about the country, Beijing, names, money, the Great Wall, the clay army, food, ping pong, the New Year festival, a pronunciation guide, and more. These are fun educational books for young learners. My wife really likes them for her preschool kids.

An interesting short book that illustrates more than the importance of music in a child's life. It starts out with the explanation that it is very important for a parent to help your child develop a talent. In this case, it is music which is the driving force. I like the fact that the author explains the manner in which music helps a child strive for excellence and in turn develops self esteem.In addition to the music portion, Ms. Cavanaugh incorporates the interactions of a family (the good and the bad) and illustrates several times the importance of good manners as well as making sure the child keeps his items neat and orderly. Grandma plays an important part in this book, too, and it is apparent that one should treat her well and with much respect. One disagreement between siblings is also used as a teaching moment for the mother.All in all, I found it to contain excellent piano teaching moments with emphasis on the family unit. Practice, practice, practice.Highly recommended.

About the Author Kurt Caswell is a writer and associate professor of creative writing and literature in the honors college at Texas Tech University, where he teaches intensive field courses in writing and leadership in the mountains and on rivers in the West. Getting to Grey Owl is a beautiful, soulful read By Elaine Wood-Lane A delightful book of travels essays, each unique in its perspective partially due to the different ages and levels of maturity of the author at the time of the travel experience in question and partially due to the many different places he has traveled and seen. For instance, in one essay written about one of his first travel experiences, he is very young and discovers that his brief trip to Morocco will end with him purchasing a hand woven rug before he leaves. However, even in his youth, he is savvy enough to negotiate well and still has the rug to remind him of the experience. His essays travel all over the world and even though each experience is unique and thought-provoking, his language in describing these experiences is poetic, wise, humorous at times, and beautiful. I highly recommend Mr. Caswell's book to anyone seeking a view through the looking glass at both the physical world we live in and a spirit moving through that world.

Tucker and Ella come from very different backgrounds and have very little in common. As you get to know them you learn that they share a common chain of abuse and neglect in each of their lives that continues to be a heavy burden to bear. I thoroughly enjoyed this rich Tennessee backwoods saga filled with tears and laughter, heartbreak and hope.

Tucker, a woman embittered by horrible childhood abuse and the people who misjudge her eccentric, abrasive ways, is redeemed by the genuine love of Emma, a woman with her own painful past. Sometimes I need to be nudged from my own self-complacency and be reminded that there are people who suffer unspeakable injustices, and we don't always know who they may be - the grumpy sales clerk, the unfriendly neighbor, etc. God never told us to only love the lovable. This book reminded me to also love those who are hard to love. You never know what may result from it for both of you.

Didn't know how it would apply to me, as I'm not selling a probate property, but rather selling a house that I have on my hands after my divorce. This book gave me great insight into selling my house & it is full of lots of helpful tips & pointers on what to watch for when selling any type of house! Another great thing about this book, is how simple things are layed out & easy to find. That definitely sped up my process of understanding & retaining the knowledge Wyn lays out. I plan on sharing this book with others, as most everyone I know will benefit from it when selling their property, if that's probate or not. :-)

We lost our Father rather unexpectedly in early June and were immediately thrust into a situation where we had to make some very serious decisions. Wyn's book saved us a lot of time and money. It is well written and organized in specific section that walk the layman step by step through the process of selling an inherited home, but Wyn also delves into the probate process and offers very helpful 'how to's' where preparing the house for top dollar is concerned. It's a quick read too. Highly recommend this book!!

Highly recommend this for buyers/sellers and agents who are trying to help their clients. As far as I am concerned "probate" is a four letter word. But this guide made it easier to understand.

Kept me entertained and everyone can remember dating and the perils of meeting the right guy while dating all sorts of wrong ones.I finished this book in one night because I just couldn't put it down and that rarely happens. Tomorrow might hurt, but a good book is always worth it.

Sex and The City meets everyday women By Tipsy-Ink “I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.”At times I adored this book, other times I had to stop myself from having an angry outburst. Even now after finishing my heart feels heavy and my throat tight like I might cry, but I guess that’s just the work of a good author. A good author is someone who can make you smile or scream at the injustice.The story itself is not one of sadness, it’s about love and friendship but that doesn’t mean you won’t find a bit of heartbreak in this. I was originally attracted to the book because of the Sex & the City appeal, funny enough there are a few references to the show in this book.The book starts off remarkably like a Carrie Bradshaw monologue. It the first chapter you are introduced to 1 of the main characters, Natalie Pepper or Pepper for short. She’s just arriving in NYC from her San Fran copyediting job and while scared, she’s excited and seems to love the city as much as her TV counterpart. But other than this, there aren’t many other similarities to the popular show. It’s a book with its own merit and it shows on every page. By underneath the covers This was my very first book that I have read by Delancey Stewart and I found that I quite enjoyed myself. I loved the way she alternated between two the main characters in the novel with their point of views. The best part about that - they were both women.Both characters were very well developed, strong female leads, and had their likes and dislikes. I loved the fact that Natalie was strong, independent and successful and felt like a true person. Her constant self-doubt about her career made her likeable and I felt myself rooting her on. Candace on the other hand was very self-assured, flirtatious, and had this air of prissiness to her. However, as the book went on, I found myself enjoying her character as well.There are definitely parts of the book where you are laughing out loud with the wittiness of the characters. Stewart did a fabulous job of creating characters whom you can see yourself in. There are bits and pieces of me in each of the characters, whom you are able to relate to.Overall, this was a quite enjoyable book that leaves you wanting more. I can't wait to read the second novel in this series. This is a definite must read this summer! A great book for the beach or camping trip

I love how the author brings in stories and examples from her own classroom experience to show the reader how crazy our school system has become. It's all part of the political debate going on now. As the author so poignantly points out, we are creating a society full of self-centered, irresponsible, demanding students. This book needs to be read by anyone who cares about what's happening to education in our country and who wants to thoroughly consider all the issues before establishing government policies.

This book is written directly from a teacher's own experience in the classroom, from 38 years of experience. Many personal illustrations, as well as carefully documented facts about the state of our educational system in America. Along with her comparisons to other countries, i.e. Australia and Finland, the author also gives a myriad of tips and ideas on how each of us can make a difference! I would highly recommend this book to politicians, administrators, teachers, and parents.
