During that time, many of my clients have been scammed and, dare I say it, so have I. You would think after 25 years I would be wise to all the scams out there; but I'm not. David enlightened me on several of the more modern ones. It seems there's a crook around every corner. I know, there always has been but these guys share their ingenuity with each other. That puts the rest of us at a big disadvantage. We're sharing jokes on Facebook while they're trying to cheat the jokesters. Just reading this book puts you on the alert for these evil souls. Their guile is unimaginable and they don't care who they hurt. So what might be a good idea to pick up this book and keep it handy when you get those emails and phone calls that confuse you.t The book could save you a lot of heartbreaks.

The author has provided hints, cautions and tips for dealing with many different types of scams and scammers – some about which I had never heard before reading this book. I especially appreciated Mr. Swainbank’s discussion of those specifically preying on seniors, as my parents, in-laws and ninety-five year old grandmother have all been scammed in the last couple of years. This book is potentially a fantastic resource for those wanting to gain awareness and put precautions in place to protect themselves from being scammed.One thing that frustrated me as I read through this book, was the lack of formatting. There are no table of contents, no chapter delineations nor clear separation of topics – which makes it near impossible to quickly locate information on a specific topic. There is also some repetition of information which probably is a result of the author using various sources. While all of the links to additional information work, several are repeated throughout the book.Despite the issues mentioned, I find Scam Prevention to be a valuable source of information, and with a little reformatting, it will be an easy to use resource for educating oneself on how to avoid being a victim of a scam.

When I first started reading the book, I thought that I was only going to be reading what I already knew. Well, I was wrong, I learned a lot from this book. Even after reading the book I would say I will be keeping it to go back and look at when I have a question about something that is going around. I have to say that it is a book that would be great for everyone to read. I would recommend this book to anyone. I will be recommending it to an everyone I know.
