When Ava finished her first year of school I was excited that she had made it through her first academic year. There were a lot of challenges: fears to overcome, nervousness, separation anxiety, and adjusting to a new environment. But, there were a lot of successes along the way as well. When Ava came home on her final day of kindergarten I reviewed her drawing book and thought, “this would make a great little book to show other kids that kindergarten has a lot of fun things to learn about and do.” The result is before you. I hope you enjoy Ava’s little book and can share it with other kids to teach them that kindergarten really isn’t scary. There’s a lot of wonderful little adventures they will have along the way. Her vivid pictures along with simple sentences allow pre-K children to have a glimpse of all of the fun ahead of them as they start school. It is a superb example of what Kindergarten children should experience and learn as they develop their interest and learn about the world around them in the new and exciting world of Kindergarten. The author's parents and teachers should be lauded for guiding such young talent!!! I'm looking forward to her second work about diving into the world of first grade. It is the exceptional work for what could be a fantastic series for parents and children alike! Bravo Ava!
