"She brings to this adorable, yet serious, yet light-hearted romance a deep humanity that defines the novel and its author." - Mary L. Tabor, author of The Woman Who Never Cooked A booty call. When Riley Eames agrees to meet her ex-boyfriend in his hotel room "just to talk," even she knows that it can only mean one thing. A stuck elevator. But three years after he left her to pursue his Hollywood dream, she's determined to get answers to the questions that only he can answer - until she finds herself trapped in the hotel elevator with rising British actor, Ashe Hunter, who's in town to promote his latest movie. A chance to move on. But even as sparks fly between them, a celebrity romance may not be enough to get Riley's life moving again, not when the answers to the questions she's been seeking are finally revealed and letting go just might be the last thing she can ever do.

Review "If you love well-written, beautifully conflicted chic-lit, you're gonna love Liz Madrid's book. I read it serially on the fabulous Wattpad where I discovered this lovely, warm-hearted writer. She brings to this adorable, yet serious, yet light-hearted romance a deep humanity that defines the novel and its author. Discover Ashe and fall in love with him the way I did and then see how hard it is to find that love, trust it and fall in love again." - Mary L. Tabor, author of The Woman Who Never Cooked"This book had echoes of a modern-day "Cinderella" tale, but edgier." - Abby Vegas, Author of Clean Break"A quick enjoyable read and a lovely fantasy. This book had echoes of a modern-day "Cinderella" tale, but edgier." - Abby Vegas, Author of Clean Break

From the Author Loving Ashe started out as a short story prompt on my blog about what happens in an elevator. I expanded it a year and a half later for NaNoWriMo 2014 and serialized it on Wattpad, where it was chosen as one of the featured stories for Sour Patch Kids' Sour Then Sweet campaign.  It's a sweet contemporary romance with a dash of mystery.  It's about falling in love again, letting go of the past in order to move on, and it's set in one of my favorite cities, New York.Book 2: Loving Riley is scheduled for release on July 2016Visit LizMadrid.com for the latest updates on Liz's novels and stories, and receive a free book!

About the Author Liz Madrid grew up in the Philippines and studied journalism in college only to realize that she preferred writing romantic fiction over news and ad copy. She now lives in Southern California with her family, a chihuahua, and way too many books.

I'm also male, so perhaps not really the target demographic for this type of writing. As a story, I found it thoroughly engaging. The pace is not hurried but it's not drawn-out either. The main character is reflective in the narrative and as a result I felt I got to know her quite well, and care about what happened to her. She's flawed, a victim of her experiences, but finds strength towards the end. There were moments that had me in tears. As an Englishman, I have to say Ashe was surprisingly believable. There may have been one or two incidents that had me raising my eyebrows, but on the other hand a Yorkshireman from a farming village is going to need a few qualities not common amongst his peers to be the one that makes it to Hollywood! And towards the end of the book there are surprises that caught me totally off guard, and made for a very satisfying read. It's very much a modern day fairytale, with the wicked, the misguided and the misunderstood. I'm going to have to wind this up, otherwise I shall end up giving something away :)Liz is a great writer, and I can certainly recommend Loving Ashe.

He's just about perfect and, dare I say, so is the book. If you want a book that lets you sit down, relax and read, then pick up Loving Ashe. Okay, maybe you won't 'relax' all through the book because there is tons of emotion woven in throughout the pages. However, if you want to read and see how a man's love can make a broken woman whole again without it being cliche, then you too will love Ashe.Yes there is insecurity, pain, fear, happy times, betrayal and on and on.... too many adjectives to keep mentioning since they are placed within the folds of the book in a way that keeps you turning the page. Yes, there is sex but not like so many others books that puts sex scenes after sex scenes without them contributing to the plot. Liz Madrid writes them within the chapters that works with the the love and even betrayal that if not careful, the reader will find themselves emotionally entangled. But isn't that what a good book is suppose to do -- get the reader involved? Also, I marked 'some violence' in the box above. It mainly is emotional violence of insecurity and betrayal. I've read this entire series and they are so well written to fit together that it's hard to remember what event took place in which book. Don't get me wrong. You definitely can read them as stand alone books without cliffhangers forcing you to wait to see what happens, however, they just flow together so smoothly that which scene comes from which book isn't important . Okay, trust me, Loving Riley has scenes you definitely won't forget since who could ever forget Ashe loving Riley? Nope, not gonna happen. But as each book in the series stands alone, they also flow together. It takes good writing skills to accomplish that and Liz Madrid more than has proven her abilities in this series. Loving Ashe is the start of something amazing.

By Thebookishcrypt *Copy provided in exchange for an honest review*"...Pain was a tough emotion to hide..."This was my first book by Liz Madrid and I am glad to say that I enjoyed it a lot!Riley, our main character, has a dark part that a lot of us can relate to which automatically forms a bond with her. Once I started this story, I couldn't flip the page fast enough. Next thing I knew, I was well over past the halfway point.I saw a small detail coming but that was nothing compared to the extreme plot twists Liz had in store for me. After those last couple of chapters, I cheered so hard for Riley and my heart went out to her poor soul. I wish I could be there for her and hug her pain away but of course, I can't. She begins this story without a backbone, which, I admit, annoyed me, but by the end of the book she has backbone I was completely proud of. The heart-breaking part about was that she had to pay dearly for earning that backbone. I seriously don't wish that things that she went through for anybody, not even my worst enemies. This poor woman, I can still feel her pain as if I had just read this a second ago. I learned to love every part of her/ even her flaws.I just noticed that I haven't talked about the main love interest yet!! I swear, Ashe made me tear up indefinitely. That man is so imperfectly perfect that it made my heart hurt. He is is EXACTLY the person Ashe needed in her life and the unbelievable trust they had in each other melted me to the core. I hope for the day that I meet my own Ashe and get stuck with him in an elevator. (Which might not happen since I hate elevators but one can dream right?)All of the characters were so incredibly realistic that I found myself surprised to no end. I have to say that out of everybody, I didn't hate anybody as much as I hated Paige. I completely DESPISE her and I am so glad I don't have a person like that in my life. Good riddance!Besides that small hatred for one of her characters, Liz is now one of my favorite authors and I can't wait to read more of her works!
