I have been targeted by the same work place bully for over 13 years now. The first part of my book tells my horrific story with this very horrible person and the second part about some lessons learned. After my last horrific assault from 10/2012 - 1/2013 I felt that the only thing I can do is expose him. By Wilbur H Highleyman Richardson's story is a very disturbing revelation about what can go on in the workplace (as well as at school). Bullying can have a profound affect on the victims - there have even been teen and pre-teen suicides over online bullying. He describes his experiences clearly and in detail, and ends the book with several steps victims can take. A must-read for anyone who feels they may be experiencing bullying.

However, the most common cause of hair loss we see in women are anaemia and ferritin deficiency. Furthermore, while many people associate finer hair with ageing, women as young as 18 can experience genetic thinning, triggered and/or exacerbated by conditions such as PCOS, and/or simply a strong genetic predisposition. Eating disorders can also cause hair fall in women and men of any age. As the causes of hair loss can be quite wide-ranging, and are also often triggered by more than one thing, it is important to see a trichologist if you are concerned with hair loss. So many variables can play a role in the health of your hair, and often the stress of closely inspecting your own hair on a daily basis for signs of problems can exacerbate the condition. If you think you are losing your hair, or that it is thinning, read this book to get an overview of this problem. Much can be done to stop excessive hair loss and also slow, and even stop or reverse, the process of hormonal or metabolic-related hair thinning. A publisher known for their comprehensive coverage of technical topics. This book took 42 pages to do not much more than restate the W3C syntax for transforms. The "examples" are iconic representations of the direction of tilt or movement for positive and negative values. No coverage of transforms as animations except to say animations take the shortest path and degrees over 360 will produce multiple twists as they animate. Superficial and dismissive coverage of the most complex matrix transforms. No deconstruction of a real website's transformation effects, no use cases, no companion website with online examples. This one-hour read could have been better presented as a one-page laminated syntax cheatsheet and then it would have been both the right length for the inadequate depth of content coverage and money well spent. I'm reselling mine after having it a day - doesn't earn the less than quarter-inch of shelf space it would occupy.

By Christof Müller The book covers all parts of a web application like data managing, caching, session, interfaces and the frontend. The author describes all the layers by explaining them with a lot of real world samples. The main focus is really on scalability aspects, which are covered in all chapters. The book also contains good design guides for writting high quality software.If you're on the way to design and implement a scaleable web application, this book contains a lot of usefull information for you.

Required Reading for the iOS Musician By Aaron McPherson This is an excellent book for anyone who wants to start making music on their iPad or iPhone (although the chapter on MIDI cannot be done on an iPhone, everything else can).If you have a lot of music apps, but mostly play them standalone, this book will also teach you how to use Audioshare and Audiobus, as well as Inter App Audio, the three most important technologies for getting apps to work together. I have not seen a better introduction to multi-app music anywhere.This book is a must-have for beginners, and even experienced musicians are likely to learn something new. Strongly recommended!

I easily understand some of the terms because I'm IT student before and I love this kind of topic. I am still not a fan, but I have more time to play with Linux than then, and I am a bit more patient. I got a Raspberry Pi B+ 2 (RPi) or whatever, the latest version, and I like it well enough to renew my earlier start with AT&T UNIX. In the meantime, I have spent much of my time working on IDE systems with mouse and pointer operations, and lost my quick-time drive at the keyboard. I have built a RPi based workstation with all of the nice operational specs of the RPi and about 200 GB of flash RAM for long term, in leiu of disk, storage. It, of course, has wireless access to the internet, wireless keyboard and mouse connection all via USB ports, and HDMI connections to my monitor. And there are still 2 USB ports for long term storage or other external devices.For classes I taught while working, I wrote many interesting programs in C++ with the AL Stevens' Quincy IDE. Of course, most of these programs need a little adjustment before they will compile on the G++ compiler, but every one works with just a little nudging. I am quite pleased.The LibreOffice package seems to do a fairly good job of translating .doc documents. I use most Microsoft Word 10 earlier, and much of the formatting, marking, change tracking, etc. features of Word are not implemented in LiberOffice Writer, making it somewhat difficult to transfer the Word programs to the Writer.I am quite pleased to say I am beginning to remember quite a bit of Linux code and can get around easily. My keyboard skills are still a bit rusty, but the next six months will see me regain the lost skills while becoming proficient in Linux. While I haven't yet really put the RPi to the test, it has not failed to meet any of my needs.These results are gratifying. I think the need for a small but powerful computer for educational purposes are well met with the RPi, .(Raspberry PI)Ted Van Sickle

It is amazing how many programming languages you can install onto your Raspberry Pi 2 platform. 20 of 20 people found the following review helpful. Dark and absorbing By D. Jennings Mark and Deb are in their 40s and their marriage is on the rocks. Deb has a drinking problem. Mark has a big crush on their neighbor Karen. Deb thinks they're having an affair, but meanwhile she is having an affair with Owen, age 18, who is also carrying on with Karen's daughter Elana, who is best friends with Deb's daughter Riley. And that's just the first few chapters.....a combustible situation as it is, add to that the fact that there are a couple of extremely disturbed people involved. Things turn very dark very quickly.I liked the author's style of writing, he's equally good at conveying the thoughts of males and females, adults and teens. His dialogue is authentic and convincing. There are only a few things I'd have changed: we know whodunit pretty early on, so we are just waiting for the denouement. While it is engaging and gripping, there are no twists and turns, no surprises, nothing new revealed at the end. the pace is a bit uneven as well, there's quite a long section about 2/3 in of Karen's indignation when her workmates make assumptions, and then more when the police make assumptions, again when the reporters do, and when her ex-husband does, and when Mark does....whereas the book wraps up in a bit of a hurry, and the exciting climax is pretty short.I have a feeling this is one of those cases where an author is famous enough that not much editorial work is done, and in this case there are some glaring mistakes."His teeth grinded." Pretty sure that isn't even a word."She saw the blinds on the living room window rustle." Pretty sure that is a noise. An invisible one."Her lower teeth tore into her gums...." I'm trying this. I don't think it's possible."She went into the teacher's bathroom, where she lost it, balling hysterically." Ummmm......no.had to laugh because one of the characters is repeatedly described as looking like Javier Bardem...then I got to the author's photo in the back of the book.....and he looks like Javier Bardem.

22 of 24 people found the following review helpful. This book is just plain bad By Jessica Weil If you’re anything like me, sometimes you just need a mindless, fast-paced page-turner. I knew more or less what I was getting myself into when I picked this up, but I didn’t expect it to be so…bad.I often enjoy books that examine the dark underside of domestic suburban life - Tom Perrotta comes to mind - but this is like if you took a book like that and stripped it of anything intelligent or thought-provoking. Any semblance of attempted satire is obscured by its utter silliness.The characters are one-dimensional cliches whose actions are so delusional and unbelievable that it’s hard to keep reading. In fact, I’m not even sure why I stuck with it. Maybe for the same reason I’ll sometimes get sucked into watching a Lifetime movie.It’s a fast, easy read, so it’s hard to feel too resentful toward it, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

About the Author

Dr. Jessica Djabrayan Hannigan is Supervisor of Student Support Services in Central Unified School District and an adjunct professor in the Educational Leadership Department at Fresno State University.  She is a graduate of the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and holds a Master's in School Psychology and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership.Dr. Hannigan is also an educational consultant working with several school districts and county offices in California on designing and implementing effective behavior systems in schools and districts that work. She currently trains approximately 300 schools on the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Champion Model System, which is the model system she designed based on her doctoral research and experiences in working with a variety of schools and districts. Her focus is on teaching teachers, administrators, and support staff how to create behavior systems in schools similar to academic systems. Dr. Hannigan resides in Fresno, California with her husband John and her two stepdaughters Rowan and Riley.

 

Dr. Linda Hauser has been deeply involved in education for over 35 years. She is a Professor at California State University, Fresno where she teaches both in the Educational Leadership and Administration (principal preparation) program and Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership, as well as serves as department chair, program coordinator and dissertation adviser.  Prior to her tenure as a university professor, Dr. Hauser served over 28 years in California public as the Chief Academic Officer for the Fresno Unified School District and as an area superintendent, administrator for professional development, elementary school principal, secondary learning director, resource teacher, and teacher in the Clovis Unified School District.  She has taught numerous grade ranges from primary grade students to the graduate level.  Dr. Hauser received her BA in Communicative Disorders (deaf education emphasis) and teaching credential from California State University of Fresno, her MA in Administration and Reading Specialist Credential from Fresno Pacific University and completed a doctorate in Organizational Leadership from the University of LaVerne.  Under Dr. Hauser’s leadership as elementary principal, her school was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School.  She has done and continues to do extensive work in schools and districts in organizational development and facilitation as a new leadership competency; system’s alignment; teaching, learning and instructional leadership for high performance; and developing and implementing tiered systems of interventions and support.  Dr. Hauser delivers numerous presentations at national and state conferences, is an author of peer-reviewed articles, and was an award recipient from the National Staff Development Council (NSDC) for a model professional development program: Project BEST (Beginning Educator’s Support in Teaching).  Linda lives in Fresno, California with her husband, Rob, of 35 years.  They are proud parents and grandparents.  Their grown daughter, Kelly, and her husband, Shawn, reside in Carlsbad, California with their two precious grandsons, James and Zachary.  Grown son Jeffrey resides in Costa Mesa, California.

The detail in some paragraph seems a bit confusing, for example some code need to reference a function in which writer doesn't provide the codes before he ask reader to execute it and then provide the function source code later in the next paragraph
