By JOAQUIN MARTINEZ This book was recommended to me by my buddy that joined the Air Force last year because he felt like it helped him get the high score he needed to get in (the Air Force being the most exclusive branch and all). My bar isn’t quite as high – not really into flying, but I do want to join the Coast Guard, which is usually a score better than 40, so not exactly easy.I’m pretty decent in English and math so I wasn’t too worried about that. What really intimidated me about the ASVAB however is the SCIENCE. I know some basics but the military is SUPER vague about the ASVAB’s science section. I mean “general” science? That could cover anything!In that respect I am sooo glad that my friend recommended this guide. The science section is by far the longest section in the book and covers EVERYTHING – stuff you totally would have forgotten learning about (like meteorology and geology). At the same time, this book doesn’t dwell on stuff…no long winded intros or just a huge list of terms. Just, this is what you need to know, and done. The science section is also special – it has practice questions at the end of each section, which is helpful because all that science can feel straight up daunting.The other sections shouldn’t be discounted either. The AFQT score sections were helpful but I feel like that stuff is pretty basic (so is science I guess but like I said, not a strength!) so it was the other sections that helped relax me. Stuff like automotive and shop and mechanics that I really knew nothing about that I know I will need in the Coast Guard.I felt well prepared in science and those other random thing as a result of this book when I took the exam. My AFQT ended up being a 58. Not bad at ALL!

By Jacob Kellebrew The Armed Forces Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a series of tests developed by the Department of Defense and is used by the U.S. Army to determine whether you have the mental aptitude to enlist. The ASVAB also helps determine which Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) you qualify for. This book certainly helps you to be ready for any question in any category on the ASVAB. I took the ASVAB a few years ago and did ok on it but there was just such a wide variety of questions for different education levels on there and this was before I had any college credits so I was taking a test that could map out my future but yet I didn't study for it nor did I know what to expect. I was just a young kid trying to get in and in doing so I didn't get the score I wanted for the MOS that I was trying to get so I didn't end up signing up then but this book is so informational that if you read it and study for just 10 minutes every day there would be no reason that you cant get a perfect score on your ASVAB.God bless you who are reading this review because it must mean that you are considering a career in the world's greatest military, and thank you in advance.I received this product for free in return for my honest review.

My son will be taking the asvab test in the spring and needEd a book to study from. This book covers all your military needs from science to math and other information. I'm hoping he does well with this book. All the answers are in the back of the book.
