Cliffhanger ending ruined a good book By Sharon I've been waiting impatiently for this book to come out, finished it in one sitting and am bitterly disappointed. Each of the first two books were excellent, ones that I've kept to re-read. Good characterization and interesting characters, interesting plotlines, good action sequences. Each book had it's own main character, but the initial core group of characters remained. with a complete story to each book, beginning, middle, end.The writing and storyline in this third book remains excellent, as does the characterization. Unfortunately the author has apparently decided to serialize this series with no warning and there is no ending of even a minor plotline, with a major overall story continuing on to a new book, an abrupt, middle of a battle cliffhanger ending. My personal opinion is that any serialized book should carry a notation to that effect, not be unleashed on an unsuspecting reader. If a cliffhanger ending is announced in the information and I choose to read the book anyway, it is my choice. If the author shocks me with it unexpectedly, my annoyance is going to be expressed.

First of all, it's not Book 3 in the series -- it's Book 3 PART 1! You get to the last page and it ends in the middle of a gun battle along with the news that the conclusion will be published later in the spring. I wouldn't have started it had I known it was incomplete. In addition, the manuscript was not proofread. It's rife with typos, including the mis-spelling of a main character's name throughout the book. Martha Coeur d'Alene is billed as COUER -- bad French and completely inconsistent with the earlier book. There's no consistent flow and lots of repetition of sentences. Obviously written in installments without an editor.

What happens on and to the reservation when the.electricity goes off everywhere? The story isn't completed in this book! The first shot on the reservation against evil and the last shot in this book - fittingly end with a small woman elder shooting her deceased husband's huge pistol. I will be impatiently waiting for book 4. Well-written, great characters and a great series. I highly recommend reading the entire series in order. You might want to wait until book 4 before buying the series. LOL...to avoid any frustration in waiting for more of the story.
