My main aim in this book is to add value in students' lives in their scholastic pursuit and hopefully as a result to show: 'beauty' is very much an integral part of our personal lives in our collective existence, meaning, beauty has an important and influential role in morality and it is invisibly integrated in business, science, ethics, philosophy and art. Although sometimes, we are unaware of beauty but one thing is for sure we definitely experience it - we just don't see it, we feel it, and these are the reasons why we should get to know it. What is beauty and why is it important? What is ethics in aesthetics-morality in beauty? Hopefully after reading this book you would never look at things, places, people, experiences, feelings and emotions and especially YOU as an individual and your life the same way again. -M- A lover of wisdom @authorofbeauty

Johnson In this brief book, Beauty Matters-- The Moral Issues, the author starts and ends with practical applications of the philosophy of beauty. She brings together several classic philosophic approaches and links them to each other in new, meaningful ways, then adds to them a new thread of modern applications--the ultimate point of which is to reveal a way for people to live beautiful, moral lives. Morality, virtue, beauty, goodness, the soul... it all gets detangled here.As a teacher, I can imagine using this book for class discussions or just as thought-provoking independent reading. Some sections are more challenging than others to comprehend, but high school students should have no problem with the content. The book's short paragraphs and clear transitions, coupled with informative subheadings and bolded key statements, should help a lot if reading ability is an issue. Clear and detailed resources are provided for the interested reader to dig a bit deeper into the philosophy of beauty. The bottom line: if you've ever stopped to wonder why we so easily equate good looks with moral goodness (and physical ugliness with moral depravity), or if you're looking for a bit of a challenge and some philosophic inspiration, then this book is for you.
