Most of them draws a compelling picture in your mind to use as a seed to develop in your way. I've bought quite a few books on this topic because sometimes I need a little push to escape the empty page paralysis, and this one is my favourite so far. With only one hundred prompts, it falls a bit short, but the topics are interesting enough to revisit. I've used some of the prompts already, and I'm quite sure I'll go back to them to explore other possibilities.Bottom line: this book can help your stories start rolling. It delivers what it advertises.​

I can’t be happier than to read of them together for Christmas. I fell in love with the displaced eight year old in Andie and Sam’s story, Heartbreak Cove. Now I have fallen for her all over again along with her dedicated Army Ranger father. Libby did not stand a chance any more than I did.This story is reminiscence of an old Barbara Stanwyck’s 1945 movie, Christmas in Connecticut. Not a remake, mind you, just a little of the same flavor. Someone who is not what they have been saying and are now scrambling. All does work out in the end in ways not planned by the family, friends or bothersome new crews.This updated story still has a warm Christmas Spirit shining through. It is a very enjoyable, uplifting tale.4.5 StarsCopy provided by the publisher through Net Galley for an honest review.

I received this through Netgalley so I have not read the first three but not knowing any of the characters I still felt right at home. This is just lovely and the characters are tangible. The plot had me worried for a bit but the read is worth it!Libby is the type of gal that is so sweet and endearing that nobody could hate her! I loved her from the instant I opened up this book in my Kindle. She doesn't know that though, which makes her even more endearing. She's worried about setting up a scene in her column that makes her look like the perfect little housewife. She cooks, cleans, takes care of her hubby and their chickens. What's not to like? Except for the fact that it is all based on lies.Her boss corners her and creates a situation that she feels she cannot get out of. She has to find a hubby and cater to her boss's every need while being attracted to a man that is definitely not her fictional hubby.As you can imagine hosting a Christmas party when you cannot even cook is a lot to handle. Libby is just the person to fake it!Owen overhears her "husband" telling another woman that their marriage is hardly what it seems and he wants to strangle the man. They have a connection and he wants to deepen that connection but not while she is married, even if it is to a scoundrel. Owen also has his daughter and his future career in the military to worry about. Nothing is going his way so how can he worry about a woman that isn't even his?These two are fabulous together! The drama! Ohhhhh... there is a lot of drama in this one. It is worth getting through because the ending is fabulous!I cannot wait to read more from this series. By Happily Ever Chapter ** Provided by Publisher in Exchange for an Honest Review **Judging a Book by it's Cover:Cover depicts a classic winter-y Christmas scene with horse-drawn sleigh, snow-covered cabin in the woods, and surrounding pines wrapped in lights. Synopsis sounds warm and filled with love, healing, and second-chances - a theme that Ms. Everett is well-versed in.Looking Deeper:Third person POV. For the past several years, Libby's been living a lie - or perhaps more like wistful thinking. But the daydreams and make-believe life is shattered when her boss commits her to a task that can expose her to all as a fraud. Given an ultimatum, present the perfect life she always writes about or lose your job and risk prison, how is she going to pull this off? Owen's broken, in more ways than one, and all he wants is to find his way home to his daughter and try to make her holidays something truly memorable and special, but will be able to connect to a child that knows he only plans on leaving her again? Ms. Everett never fails to infuse family values with hope and heart-warming second chances. The Hero and heroine in this story are both very well-written. There are a handful of secondary characters present or mentioned from previous installments of this series, and other tied-in series', however, this story can and does stand strongly on it's own. There are also a few new characters introduced into the mix, each providing another layer or filler to the plot. The chemistry between Libby and Owen is fantastic, even (or, maybe, especially) when Owen thought Libby was married to Nash - which provided a few smiles and giggles along the way. The interaction between the characters is authentic and the dialogue felt spot-on. There were several conflicts along the way, especially given the premise of the plot, that were handled in the best way they were able. The lies and secrets were getting a little tedious and thick however, seems everyone had something to hide, or at least omit. The plot is extremely well-written with an easy flow with characters that you feel like you truly are getting to know on a personal level. There were only a few small spots that I'd say predictability made itself present (the Christmas Present in the epilogue, for one). The conclusion felt solid and sturdy with an epilogue that covered all the key elements. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Thankful That Pastan's Voice Is Not Asleep By MinnesotaMind Pastan is one of my favorite poets and her newest book is very good. It's not five star great like some of her early work or Traveling Light, but I've found that few of my favorite poets' late work is of great depth or heft. This is not true of Pastan, and there are some really wonderful poems to cherish here that I'll come back to again. Specifically, see "Ship's Clock," "Consider The Space Between Stars," "Imaginary Conversation," and "Love Poem Again." There's nothing "new" here just in terms of the themes and techniques Pastan explores and puts to good use; but that's not a bad thing. There's plenty to love about her always wonderful eye, her precision, and the intense quiet of her poems. It's still one of my life goals to meet Pastan in person as we are both Jewish poets living in Potomac, MD. While she, being the Poet Laureate of Maryland and a Ruth Lilly Prize Winner has a far longer resume than I, I would still love one day to tell her:Thank You, Linda.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Absolute must read. By Pamela Johnston Ward This is an absolute must read. It's a hood story, but not the type that I am used to reading. Poor Blue really went through some things. What she went through is enough to break anyone down. She just couldn't catch a break. I loved Mookie. I think that he was good for her. They kinda balanced each other out. I look forward to part 2 to see what's going to happen next.

The characters were believable and everything seem to progress naturally. The Christian theme and the desire to wait until Marriage was believable as well. Abigail wasn't a saint and was tempted along the way. The phrase "2 years and 6 months" caught me completely off guard. But it was the nicest twist in the book. This is a great read and you'll be glad you bought this book!

Patient Love By Alice Yanes This was a really heartwarming story about a young woman who was the church secretary and also a very loving and caring individual yet had been hurt who finally allowed her heart to accept the love of her Pastor's son when they were paired together to work on a project for those less fortunate. Watching the love unfold between them brought tears to my eyes to note how patient Dave was while trying to get Abigail to accept that he truly loved her. The love they both showed the people they worked on the project for was astounding and gave me hope for all ethnic groups to display the humanity God has placed in all of us.

By Homeschooling Mom Hello, (From the mom who made these homeschooling journals!) I designed these books for my own homeschooling children. At first I just made one for my 12 year old daughter. Then all the kids wanted one. The friends wanted them too! So I made a variety of covers to tell them apart and make all the kids feel special and designed them for a wider age range. They are all designed to work well for kids ages 7 to 17 with ADHD, Asperger's and Dyslexia. The main difference is the cover art. When you choose a journal, you tend to pick the cover that you love. So look at all the choices and choose the journals by the cover. Get a different one for each child. There is one difference, we have a few journals that include scripture readings from the Bible, that is noted in the description.I made the covers uniquely interesting for boys and girls. My boys did not want flowers and butterflies, my girls did not want planets or boats. So instead of making gender neutral covers, like everyone else, I tried to make something for everyone. I have 8 daughters and two sons, so only a couple of the journals are for boys. I wanted to be sure that when someone is searching for homeschooling supplies for kids with Asperger's, Dyslexia or ADHD that they would be able to find our journals. They also all include Charlotte Mason methods and mix in Unit Studies and Unschooling ideas. So we wanted families who are looking for unschooling supplies and Charlotte Mason to find them too. This will work great on days in which I am sick, younger siblings are sick, etc. I personally would not use it as the end all, be all program for six weeks, but it will be great for a few days here and there.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Loving Our Homeschool Journal By Coffee Mama The Hyper-Active Homeschool Journal is really a neat way to have the kids learn. The child is to complete 10 pages a day. Basically you have your child choose between 6-9 books and they use those books to complete their work.It includes spelling practice, copywork that the child chooses, reading time, nature study, and screen time even. The Screen Time page has the child watch a documentary, educational program, movie, youtube tutorial and write a few sentences or draw a picture.There's a Letter Doodle page where the child learns to draw letter by tracing and coloring them in. Thinking & logic pages are included. It's just a fun way to do school.There are no verses in this one. On the Start Your Day page there is a section for a Prayer List.The book is sturdy, I love the journal cover. The pages stand-up to the eraser meaning your child won't erase in the same spot a few times without tearing the page.You will need to include a math program.I am using this Journal with an 11 year old boy, he has completed 50 pages of his journal at the time of me writing this review. He likes that he has some control over what he is learning by choosing his own books (mom did choose a few too ;) He can do the pages independently with me checking in on him to keep him on track.The journals are flexible. I have an older student using a journal only twice a week, the rest of the week he does his regular schoolwork.(I received a copy of this book for my honest review. I was not required to give a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC regulations)

Hands-on approach to GeoSpatial Analysis By Karhunen Jani Overall, the book is well written and keeps me interested as it progresses chapter by chapter. The books gives you the toolset needed to start geospatial analysis with Python by providing examples to try out. It covers briefly some of the theory and concepts behind the code, but does not go very deep. If you are looking for an introduction to GIS and geospatial analysis in general, there are more theory oriented and well-suited books on the subject. If you like more an hand-on approach and quick start, I believe this book will have you covered. I deduct one star, because the code examples should have been more thoroughly tested by the author and review team, since there are few errors.

The booked worked great for that purpose. The step by step instructions for installing all of the required python modules were especially informative. The code examples were also helpful. When I started the project I was new to python, and the book was accessible to my skill level. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is working with data that has a geospatial component.

Time and again the reader is educated on not only what has worked in the authors’ classrooms (as well as classrooms they have visited), but what works best based on research. Student work samples and rubrics abound! While the book is geared toward grade 6-12 teachers, I believe upper elementary teachers can use this book, too. The cases and discussions are based on Neebe and Roberts’s experiences as high school teachers and their observations of other 6-12th grade teachers, but I believe the suggestions for rolling out a 1:1 classroom can be adapted to fit an upper elementary classroom. Having taught 1st - 6th grades, I can see how I would have incorporated and adapted what I learned from this book when I taught 4th and 5th grade. As any teacher knows, you need to make what you learn fit your style and your students’ needs. PowerUp can be read cover to cover (I suggest this for your first read), but each chapter stands alone. If you want information about using 1:1 for differentiation, turn to page 105. Want to become a connected educator? Then page 201 is the beginning of that journey for you. My favorite line in this section is “Step 1: Lurking.” Yes, that’s how you start! Snoop, read everything and feel safe in anonymity. I believe that this is a book that you will not read just once. It is a guide you will refer to over and over again. Teaching and learning looks differently now. I am learning to embrace this and welcome the opportunity to adapt my teaching style to what my students need.

Excellent Resource For the Effective Integration of Technology By Adriana This book is a well-organized guide to effectively integrating technology in the curriculum written by two outstanding educators. What I love about this book is that it presents excellent real-world examples of how to integrate technology effectively in the classroom. The book addresses technology integration the way it should be addressed - by starting with and focusing on pedagogy. Additionally, this book is grounded in sound learning science theory and follows the principles of Universal Design for Learning.Overall, I found this book very helpful and I found the Power Up resources on the Power Up website [ www.pluginpowerup.com] immediately applicable in my practice. As a learning technologist who works closely with teachers, I will continue to use this book as a resource and also recommend it to teachers and administrators as part of their professional development journey.

By Judy Blakeney While I am only half-way through this book, I already know that I have hit the mother-load. It's like the California Gold Rush, with nuggets of wisdom and learning that just keep coming. I like how Jen and Diana have organized the book systematically. The patterns of chapters and resources are repeated, so information is easy to find. Also, there are links and referrals to other resources if I want to learn more. They have set up a website and a series of slidedecks for presenting ideas at http://www.pluginpowerup.com/. Another valuable inclusion in each chapter are real classroom examples of how 1:1 devices of all sorts have been implemented in their classroom. If you or your school are going 1:1 this year, grab a copy for yourself and another for a teaching partner, so you can make the most out of Jen and Diana's expertise and experience. If you are already an experienced 1:1 teacher (as I am), this book still has plenty of new ideas.

And it is a very well explained embedded linux book.The content is for beginners, as it explain some basic concepts, and introduce very well why it's different to work with embedded linux. And having all this embedded world flavored with Yocto Project's tools is really the best.
